"Very nice view from the front porch of the cottage. Loved the rocking chairs watching the hummingbirds. About a .25 mile walk to the river which was beautiful! Very clean and quaintly decorated. Owners were very accommodating! The front screen door was very charming because of the sound."

Secluded farmhouse retreat - Meramec river access!

"We really enjoyed our time as a family. The barn with the games was a big hit with the teenagers. JW gave us info for the rafting/kayaking outfitter and it was a beautiful place on the river to float along and enjoy ourselves. Very few others were in the same area. Easy access to the river and easy to find out take out point.The horseback riding was rated a success from those that went. We just didn't realize it was a bit of a drive to get to it but each rider prizes the horseshoe they were given. Four of us ventured to the local winery and Steelville Saturday afternoon. Absolutely AWESOME art gallery there with paintings done in the area recently for a competition. The CANOE "monument" in town is something to look for.We visited the ONONDAGA Cave after checking out. Having seen probably a couple of dozen caves around the US -- this one is most impressive.We stayed 3 nights and appreciate The Wright Brothers opening their doors to us!"

"We really enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect for what we needed, the cabin was extremely cleaned & well maintained. Host was very responsive with communication. We plan on staying here again when we come back to this area! Would highly recommend!"

"This was the perfect 3 day get away for my husband and I. The cabin was cozy and the location is so peaceful. Cindy was great! She was responsive to all questions and when she found out the microwave quit working, she brought another one right out! We are feeling blessed to have had a chance to stay in Jacks little log cabin. We will be back!!! Maybe we will bring the family and get one of the other bigger cabins next time. Or, just make it a special get away place for us two! "

"We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the location, along with its proximity to Cuba, Steelville, and Lindberg Lane (location of the former family farm). We didn't take advantage of the hot tub because it didn't fit into our schedule. The TV and the WIFi worked fine. The only downside was that we didn't find the upstairs (loft?) bed very comfortable because the mattress tended to sag in the middle, especially on the first night. It also would have been helpful to know that body soap and shampoo would not be available in the showers. One of our party especially appreciated and took advantage of the availability of the washer-drier in the basement."
