"I’ve rated this hotel ‘good’ based on the warm welcome and attentive and kind service from the manageress. She was wonderful. The room to be fair was very tired, only one bedside light, harsh lighting, strange glass door into bathroom ( the bathroom mirror was way to high, it had no fan so steamed up, no storage for my wash bag except a wobbly small sloping shelf) so don’t stay here it you want a luxurious stay. However it was clean and the bed was comfy. The duvet was so thin and the room very cold, so at 11pm I asked the manageress for extra blankets and reported a fan that was going off below and disturbing us. She was super kind, and sorted the issues immediately for us and we slept well. The breakfast was pretty good, but only coffee from Nescafé sachets! I would have really loved a proper good quality cup of coffee. "

"As a football fan, it was great to stay at a place with such a close association to the professional game. The grounds and buildings there were very grand and impressive. I stayed at the main house with a sprawling set up providing space for work on my laptop and a big bathroom with a cracking shower. I decided to use the gym which was functional but somewhat underwhelming considering the backdrop. I dined at the restaurant being served by an amazing lady who was also on the front desk and made you feel at home. The meal was really good and I had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was a little disappointing as the ingredients were not of a high standard but overall I enjoyed my stay there."

"The cottage suits us very well, we have visited it many times.This time it wasn't quite as clean as usual, the upstairs shower is very grubby.It was cold and frosty while we were there but we found the heating came on during the night as well which we found to be too warm.The equipment in the cottage is of very good quality especially in the kitchen.The decor of the cottage compliments its surroundings.We enjoy staying at Gardener's Cottage very much and would recommend it if you are looking for something surrounded by nature and quite isolated yet not far from civilisation."

"To get into the property you need a fob, that is attached to the keys, which is kept in a lock box inside the building. I had to wait for someone else entering the building for me to get in. "
