The desirable location is just a short walk away from the Hendricks Head Lighthouse and Preserve. A wood-burning fireplace creates inviting allure in the main house's living area. Whip up delicious dishes in the kitchen, appointed with an array of helpful gadgets. You'll find two tables in the dining area. The primary bedroom holds an L-shaped desk for a convenient workspace. THINGS TO KNOW Access to the front door is via three exterior steps and an unlevel stone pathway through the yard. This property does not have air-conditioning. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, living area very cozy and the fireplace worked great. Although we didn’t stay in the smaller cabin, it looked very cozy with the bed facing the ocean. So quiet at night with the sound of waves to sleep by. Nestled in the trees with daily sunset shows, it is a beautiful spot to get away. You can walk to the General Store which has pretty much everything you need, walk to the beach (although both were more of a bike ride for me). That said, you can drive to Boothbay Harbor in about 15 mins. Perfect combination of peace and fun. Loved it. The 2 house set up allowed a 2nd couple privacy. ##### PAULA C. Sep 8, 2024 #### Labor Day in Maine Loved the island of Southport and location of the house House faces west so we had great sunsets and it was so nice To spend the end Of the day on the Porch. The kitchen was small but just what you would expect in a Maine cabin except had all we needed especially a dishwasher, coffee pot, electric tea kettle, toaster microwave, oven, lots of utensils. The main space is big and great to relax in all times of day. We even had a real fire in the fireplace. We had spectacular weather so didnt need to spend a lot inside. The beach is right down the street so went swimming there and put our kayak in there. Spent a fun Labor Day weekend with 2 families up To 7 of us comfortably ##### Eliza D. This is a quiet location in a simple and old fashioned Maine home on a beautiful rocky beach. The pictures are accurate and the bright living and dining area overlook the ocean. It's the perfect spot to watch the sun go down and see lobster boats haul traps. We had a couple of small issues. The locks on all the doors are not easy to use and took us a few tries to get into the place. There were no instructions on how to get into the little cottage. We had to call Vacasa, We got a call back from a caretaker who was very nice and let us know what to do. The main house smells a little musty probably from being closed up all winter. We couldn't get the TV to work either but we enjoyed just being there and playing some board games. We tried to use the fireplace but the wood was too damp and wouldn't 'burn. However, the place is charming and has an old Maine feel where life is simple and easygoing. A grill would be an excellent addition on the deck.
