"I arrived and the owner wasn’t expecting me even though I had booked earlier that day through Expedia. The room was fine, hard mattress but I like that. A bit outdated and hard worn sheets but I slept really well. I asked about dinner and the owner said yes 7:30. I was sat in reception alone (in the dark as the light kept going off) and served a bowl of pasta with chopped up smoked salmon and cheese, a dry crepe and a terrible packaged flan. "A unique place to stay with a lovely pool/ spa and comfortable bed. A little let down by the service. Kettle in room and two herbal tea bags. We asked if it was posssible to have a black tea teabag (essential for English travellers) but were told no we would have to order tea in the cafe if we wanted black tea. Very disappointing for a hotel that prides itself on good customer service!"

"We were a family of 5. The weather meant the pool was used everyday and was so valuable! Kitchen had everything we needed. The inside living spaces were a good size and the games room was enjoyed. Although with the hot weather nothing beats outside. Worth noting 2 of the bedrooms were across the house through the games room and dining room. This still left four rooms near each other if kids don't want to be far away but just a mention. All rooms were brilliant and spacious. We would stay again and could easily bring friends and still have space!"

"I was tempted to leave a terrible review to put everyone else off but that seemed perhaps a little unfair. This was the most magical, wonderful place to spend time with our children who were utterly entranced with the ponds and loved every moment in the pools. By day #2, one of our 7 year olds was asking if there are schools nearby and could we just live here? Beautiful gardens, fabulous wildlife (learning the French for hedgehog!), late sunsets and a lovely host. Thank you. "
