Welcoming Hooks Hideaway-The Cabin on the Albemarle Sound

"Overall, this property was excellent and makes for a nice, quiet retreat from busy life. It’s an extremely cozy, well decorated, 3-bedroom cabin setting right next to the water. The views are wonderful and the ability to relax next to the water on the home’s personal dock is flat out amazing. My only criticisms are 1) that there are a lot of bugs outside, and while this is normal in that area, the place could use a bug zapper or some other control mechanism. 2) This is definitely an out-of-the-way location, so it would behoove you to utilize the well stocked kitchen by bringing food items to cook while there. The few local restaurants operate when they feel the need and often close early.Like I said though, it was a great experience and I highly recommend the place! "

"The house is in the middle of nowhere, or at least very rural. It gives a lot of privacy for guests, but just know that there are bugs due to the remote area. The host was pretty up front about that, though. That said, we got a lot of value for the cost of the house and we would definitely stay here again. Nathan was prompt with responding to any queries, and it is not too far away from the OBX, less than an hour. Thank you for such a wonderful new experience in NC."

"We have rented this again and it is still perfect. Location is perfect for visiting Pungo wildlife refuge which is literally right across the street. !! It’s quiet, peaceful, clean and comfortable!! Our host is great and quick to respond to texts. And the Great Horned Owls come out every night and are right across the road in front of the house!!! We had 3 each night!! And there are bunches of butterflies in her beautiful flowers and we got to see adorable little green frogs this am on the outside kitchen window. Highly recommend staying here for a PERFECT location to set up base for Pungo refuge visits!!"

River and Refuge Retreat!!!!Cozy 2-bedroom cottage in delightful Columbia NC

"This property is a hidden gem. We used it as our base for a short trip to OBX. Columbia is a peaceful town with a lovely boardwalk along the Scuppernong River and this home is located within walking distance of the small main street and boardwalk. Coming from the triangle area, it was nice to have a shorter drive to get to our accommodations coming down and to be ahead of the OBX return traffic coming home. Plus, it's so much more affordable than staying right on the coast. The house itself was great for our family. There is a small loft area with a bean bag chair (which isn't pictured clearly in the photos) and it was a big hit with my teen. He'd climb the ladder and have a bit of privacy at the end of the day to chat with friends. If we decide to vacation in the area again, we'd definitely book it again."

"Stay was exceptionally clean with more than adequate amenities and very tranquil surroundings. We especially enjoyed the views from the nearby pier overlooking the Albemarle Sound. It was a very short drive to the Outer Banks. We would definitely recommend to others and hope to return."
