Manzanita Oceanfront Inn

"The housekeeping was poor. A coffee cup had been put away dirty, the soap container in the shower was empty and housekeeping, I was told, was supposed to come every other day but no one did. What was troublesome was that the floor is a vinyl with a wood pattern and the build up of sand over 3 days from coming in from the beach was bad. It got everywhere. It reminded me of how a tent gets when beach camping. The floors won’t last long with all that grit scrubbing over them. Also sand can become slippery and when it rains it will be a muddy mess. It’s also uncomfortable to walk on and it gets tracked from your feet into the bed. Sandy sheets aren’t fun. Industrial low nap carpet as in other beach motels I stay at would look better, make the room feel warmer and less sterile, and with vacuuming deal with the sand better. Otherwise the room was clean but sparse. It seemed like it was put up in a hurry and had furniture from IKEA. The microwave door stuck and was already showing signs of wear. That being said, the grounds were nice, the fire pit great, the chairs outside the room nice, and the beach access superb. The ocean view wonderful as the motel is just across the road from the beach. It all happens there."

"The location is superb, perched high above the water with a beautiful forest behind the house. Big trees all around. A great view of the ocean from high above. You could hear the ocean but as a pleasant background sound rather than the roar of ocean front. We all enjoyed it immensely. But I do have two complaints abut this property: there are no outside lights on the back patio and it’s very dark. They have a great fire pit that we used every night but there is a step up that’s very hard to see and people tripped over it many times. Some lights strung overhead would solve that problem and add ambience. My other issue is that the master bedroom has a queen bedroom attached to it with a door that only has a curtain, not a solid door. This would not work for 2 couples, only for a family with kids."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The View House worked very well for our multi-generational family reunion (ages 9 to 81). We really enjoyed the fabulous ocean views from nearly every room, and there was plenty of room for our large group to be close together for family time and meals/games or be spread out for quiet time. The kitchen was well laid out for all our cooking, and it was very handy to have an additional refrigerator and stove on the lower level. We especially liked renting from a local company, having a real person to talk to, and feeling confident we would receive rapid assistance if we needed it. We enjoyed our time at The View House and we look forward to our next stay there!"

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay! We spent a weekend in Manzanita and I wish we could have extended our trip! The location was perfect for a relaxing stay with a group of friends and we had an amazing time. The unit was large enough for our group and we were 4 adults sleeping there. Ideally situated and not far from the beach.The property description was accurate and what we found matched the pictures. The place was clean, well-maintained and welcoming.The basement was a huge bonus, with plenty of games and entertainment for everyone, including arcade games, video games, ping pong, Guitar Hero, and more.The set up of the basement was also perfect for movie nights with a large group.The main street of Manzanita village, Laneda Avenue, is within waking distance, and this was part of our morning routine to end our beach walk. The Laneda Avenue has plenty of restaurants, bars, a nice coffee spot and cute shops and cafes.Communication with the host was excellent throughout our stay. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!"

"The views from this house are stunning. It’s the perfect mixture of trees and coastline. The check in process was seamless. The living room is so cozy to curl up on the couch and read a book or watch a movie. The lights in the entryway were a bit confusing to turn on. The bedrooms were nice, but blackout curtains could have made the sleeping arrangements perfect."

"The owners were very responsive to my messages before checking in and once while we were there. -the two bunkers hadn’t had the sheets changed and sand was inside the sheets on one bed and cookie crumbs in the other. -Never found any face wash cloths. -there should be safety reflective strips on the change from one level to another. We had two ladies immediately trip when we were entering the house for the first time. -the patio had a lot of weeds growing through the pavers. -the driveway is very steep and the owner said there was room for four cars which there was but my Toyota Highlander couldn’t park there with bottoming out. I was able to park on a street below the house. A smoke detector was beeping while there and I contacted the owner and he offered a solution and was very quick responding but I reported it mainly as a safety issue for the next renters. We had a wonderful stay and there were 11 women staying here, age range from 60 to 77. View is fabulous. We had a couple of days of rain but then two days of sun and blue skies. We got to watch a wedding on the beach directly across from us. We had a fun time playing games, laughing and really enjoyed Manzanita and Cannon Beach while there."
