"The front desk person was great and friendly. I got a dog-friendly room and since I was mid-week had the whole bank of rooms to myself, so very quiet. The area is super quiet and remote. The room was good. A bit dark since the only window was the sliding glass door. I wished I could lock the screen because I wanted to keep the sliding glass door open to hear the ocean. There was no locking mechanism. As a solo traveler It's these little things that help. The grounds were ideal to walk my dog...

"Location is the highlight of this Gualala studio. The stairs faded quickly into the spectacular views. This is a special retreat from the ordinary. Miren is a fantastic host, her knowledge of the area, attention to detail & warm hospitality all a highlight of our stay. We spent 3 nights & explored nearby, but the Anchor Bay beach below this studio makes this location a place of pure contentment, no need to roam. We hope to return."

"There was no heater in the house and as note in my questionnaire we were all 3 in our 80 and 70 No heat was mentioned This person that kept checking on us Vancasa knew nothing about the house. We did not have TV because there were no instructions. No information sheets about what to do upon checking out . This has never happened to me with a VRBO normally everything is typed out and very easy for our stay. Excellent clean kitchen, with everything you might need to cook with."

"this is a gorgeous, large property with a full view of the ocean and only one house, which is hidden by high bushes, next door: so all open space looking out to the ocean and to the south and southeast. The ocean view kitchen/family room, dining room are roomy and comfortable, and the large den/tv room at the other end of the home offers another space for people, so 6-8 people can really spread out. All beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen has literally everything you need, including a large pantry of spices, sugar, flour, coffee filters, baking and cooking utensils. The hot tub is large and very clean with an unobstructed view of the ocean. There is an enclosed, lovely garden filled with flowers where one can read and soak up the sunshine and peacefulness. We saw lots of birds, a couple of big rabbits, deer and a fox out in the beautiful field off the large deck. There is a path right off the deck that connects to the trail down to Shell Beach, about 6-10 minute walk, where we saw mother seals with their pups. With 4 bedrooms, large kitchen/family room, dining room, den/tv room, 3 bathrooms, extensive deck and hot tub, Cadwalader House is quite expensive, but well worth it for a large family vacation, and I know we will come back again."
