"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view is beautiful. The property was clean and comfortable. Everything was in excellent working order. I have family that lives nearby so it was good to have some of them stop by on the Friday before Saturday check out to sit on the dock and by the firepit for a while. I grew up in Caswell County and have always loved Hyco Lake."

"So overall our stay was good. The front desk staff that checked us in and the one that we gave the key to as we were leaving were both really nice and helpful. I loved that we could check in anytime we wanted to. However, the room was pretty expensive for just one bed one night and the picture showed a hot tub but our room did not have one. Also, there was a plastic mouth piece that comes on the end of a black and mild cigar in our bed. I did not go complain to the front desk because I was in my pjs and in the bed when I saw it. I assume it probably fell out of a housekeepers pocket. Also, the pool outside was green, it wasn’t warm enough to swim yet but I thought most would be open and cleaned up by now"

"Well decorated, clean, quiet boutique hotel with friendly, helpful staff and a nice Continental breakfast. The breakfast attendant, Karen, did a great job and was nice to chat with since I was traveling alone. Surrounding area was safe and quiet and walkable to restaurants. Easy street parking right in front. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again when in the area."

"The staff were very helpful. Our room was ok. When I say ok I mean not great. There were several small things that bothered me. The towel rack was mounted crooked and the ring was loose. They still use CFL’s in the light fixtures which are old and (can be) dangerous. The breakfast was adequate and the facility was clean. Overall it was a nice hotel that just needs a little tlc."

"We didn't know what to expect. This place was up to it's high rating. Julia and the rest of the staff were very accommodating! The place was renovated into the hotel Teo years ago and still feels brand new. The a/c was the quietest we have ever experienced!! There is one of the coolest little markets next door along with some other places to eat that we will try the next time. Loved the waterfalls and casino close by."

"The rumors will be rumors; “haunted” is not how I would ever describe this hotel, ENCHANTING is more appropriate. Between the rustic feel, the beautiful rooms, amazing staff and overall cozy southern hospitality feel it’s hard to describe just how pleasant our stay at the berry hill resort was. The tavern as well as indoor pool were magnificent and the bed/ room were extremely comfy and inviting. Excellent, fulfilling breakfast with SO much to do on the property. Would not only recommend for a romantic getaway but anytime treeing through southern Virginia as well!"

"This hotel is absolutely filthy. The renovation looks good from 50 ft away but it’s like lipstick on a pig. The lobby immediately told me what I needed to know: dirty stains and leaves on the furniture, stuff all over the floor, ceiling is heavily drooping. This is our one time a year we get to stay in a hotel and we were quickly super disappointed with our choice. We refused to stay for our entire stay. In the room we found tons of issues. Floor was not swept, found glass on it (in a pet friendly room mind you- my dog could have ripped open her pads). All furniture in the room is either rusty, scratched, stained, or warped. Walls damaged- like the stucco is actually peeling or crumbling off. There was black mold on the ceiling. The bathroom is crusty and the door had nasty black hand prints everywhere. The water pressure is non existent. The pillows are not even a basic sized pillow. It’s small enough for a child and completely deflates flat. Had to stuff two in a pillow case to be relatively normal. But the worst part is the back exit isn’t locked or secure so anyone can come in and it led straight to our room. We smelled weed the entire night because the back door doesn’t close. The manager Morris acted like this is all new to him but then again we waited at the counter for 10 minutes while he was outside smoking. Also the pool was listed as an amenity but is closed, they should probably tell people that. The breakfast was nice and the lady running it works very hard."
