Best Western Hotel de Havelet

"The hotel is situated pretty much at the top of the island. This isn’t a problem because the taxi service is fine and it’s a wonderful walk. The only thing I’d say, though, about the hotel itself is that, while it is very clean, it is dated. The room where we stayed was an attic, essentially, which meant that it got pretty hot pretty quickly. The air-conditioning in the room was adequate, but not terrific. Further there is no elevator; so if you have any mobility problems, you’re out of luck here. There’s just no easy way to get anywhere unless you’re on the first floor. Same for getting in and out of a shower. You have to climb over the lip of a tub and hang on. Again, if you have mobility issues, this could be a real hazard, especially when you’re trying to get out. On the positive side, though, the staff is really quite accommodating. In addition, the restaurant at the hotel is really excellent. We only ate there once, but it was by far the best meal we had on the island."

"Stayed here for 4 nights. Hotel is brillantly located in a quiet street just off the high street in St Peter Port. so it close to all the ammenities you need such as ferry port, shops and restaurants. The only issue, we had was that the first room they put us in was on the ground floor room. The bathroom of this room is adjacent to the street, therefore my wife did not feel safe using the bathroom. We talked to the staff and in fairness they moved us to a room on the top floor which was more than suitable for the rest of the stay. The staff very kind and courteous and could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was of a very good quality. I would stay here again but would have to stipulate they I would not like to stay in the ground floor room."

"Good size, well equipped room. Nice local toiletries. Really friendly and helpful staff. They obviously get on well with each other, so always seemed to be in a good mood, which created a warm atmosphere. Excellent food. Only a couple of suggestions to make it even better: some water in the room would be nice; as a lone women traveller a security lock for the door would be reassuring. I'd be very happy to stay againn though."

"Great position with lovely views over St Peter Port Harbour, from our balcony and the dining room. The food in the restaurant was first class with an extensive menu and local fish and ingredients. Breakfasts were also excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and made our stay great. We could not fault anything."

"A lovely stay. The staff were very welcoming and beds/rooms comfortable. Both breakfast and evening meal were very well presented and cooked and restaurant manager was always cheerful and helpful. I will most definitely be coming back to stay."
