"Charming hotel with European feel"
There were some exceptional characteristics of this hotel, although it was dated. It had a unique charm by retaining some of its original features like an old fashioned elevator that still was operational and bathrooms that were original and well maintained. It offered fresh squeezed OJ, good coffee and wrapped pastries in the morning. If the pastries were fresh baked it would have been a perfect alternative to the typical canned fruit and make your own waffle. The common areas and rooms had an authentic elegance. The staff was well trained and helpful. It was nice to be at an establishment that didn't feel like a clone of the popular chain hotels. Our room was quiet, but I can't speak for those facing the highway. My only complaints are that there was an additional charge for parking and the valet was not available in the late evening. The restaurant was closed and may be in the renovation process. There was an outdoor walkway form the main building with lobby to the other side of the hotel.

Belmond El Encanto

"Enchanting El Encanto"
The first question we've been asked about our stay at the El Encanto is whether it was worthy of the price. My answer is an emphatic YES! And then some. We felt the special enchantment of El Encanto the moment we stepped from our car. Though the El Encanto is definitively an exclusive hotel, we felt at once the staff had been encouraged to express their desire to serve with a genuine heart. There was not even a hint of snootiness among the dozen or so staff whom we had the pleasure of interacting. Our valet, Jordan, was especially attentive to our every need. We could not have been made to feel a more valued guest. The grounds at the El Encanto are nothing short of spectacular. They are impeccably maintained, but not in a way you might imagine. Far from the sterile, perfectionistic duty to floriculture, the El Encanto has devoted itself to a more relaxed, enthusiastic approach. Not being a horticulturist, I care barely cite the difference between a dieffenbachia and philodendron, nor what plants are indigenous to SB, but what I sense is that they've made a purposeful decision to allow nature to blossom. My wife & I loved to stroll over to the lobby after dinner and walk the stairs to the second floor, where the veranda was waiting for us to tarry and soak in the most extraordinary vista of the Santa Barbara coastline. There's not enough space allowed here to accurately express the delight of our visit to the El Encanto – you'll just have to go & experience it yourself.

Hotel Corque

Hotel is updated, rooms are newly furnished and large. Had a king size bed, very comfortable, robes are furnished; large new bathroom. Within walking distance into the center of town. Staff is very friendly, coffee and water in room and also in the common area. Grounds are kept up and parking is plentiful. Ate at the Root 246 restaurant attached to the hotel. Excellent service, beautiful restaurant and great food. Had the Halibut and it was cooked to perfection. Good wine list. Would make a return visit to the Hotel Corque if I was in the area again.

"Excellent location"
Depending on what experience you want in Santa Barbara Kimpton Canary is a great place to stay. We were looking for a place close to good places to eat and easy walking distance to beach. It was perfect. Loved the staff and love the location. Finch and Fork is great as well to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Dinner was excellent - just as good as The Lark in my opinion for food quality.

Su Nido, All-Suites Boutique Inn

301 N Montgomery St, Ojai - Map
"Perfect location, clean and spacious."
We were on a tour of CA in a rental car so we had quite a lot of luggage and needed a bit of space for a four day stay. Su Nido was ideal for this, with three rooms to spread out into including a small self catering kitchen area. The suite was very clean, well furnished and well maintained. Most of the suites were around a central very secure nicely presented courtyard area. The area is very quiet and yet only 5 minutes walk from Ojai's restaraunts and shops. There is plenty free on site parking and the wifi was good. We could not fault this place in any way, it was perfect for us.

Absolute pleasure! Loved the patio seating all through out the hotel. Just take a seat and enjoy the view from all around the grounds. Loved the wood floors in the rooms.
