A message on the web site stated we had to walk in but that was not true. It looked like it needed a little TNC but was fine. The owners are of Spanish (Europe) descent and were very helpful. According to what we were told the hotel was part of a plantation owned by the first president of Mexico. The out buildings have been remodeled and our room was great, all stone building.
