I want to love this hotel, but it missed the mark this past time. Specifically, no fridge in the room, seemed strange. The faucet in the shower kept leaking all night, and the drain in the tub did not work correctly. Props for having a tub though! Also, the fan in the bathroom did not work. There was also no sugar for the in room coffee. I’d like to mention that this is one of my favorite hotels in San Jose. We have stayed here before. When I made my reservation on Expedia, I made sure I only picked hotels with breakfast. General rule, we never book hotels without breakfast because we know our lifestyle. We showed up at breakfast, we were told it is not included. Embarrassing! I had to go to the front desk and the guy kind of fought with me on it. Kept telling me it’s gonna say in my reservation that I have breakfast. I don’t know how these things work. I just know I’ve booked with Expedia several times and have never had this happen. It didn’t say in my reservation, whether breakfast was included or not. But I certainly didn’t feel miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel should be on me. I actually said to the front desk, who was not nice, so you’re gonna really fight me on this aren’t you? And he said yes so I said you know what forget it, and I started to walk away. That’s when he turned around and said it’s OK we’ll give it to you. But again, a rather embarrassing moment from a hotel that we do love. So it felt a little personal. They did offer us a late check out.
