Hospedería de los Parajes

Hospedería de los Parajes

10/10 Excellent
"This was a gem of a hotel located right in the old town. Check in was quick and easy and we were immediately told where to park. The hotel has character! The wine cellar was great and the woman who was there was soooo nice and incredibly helpful in making sure we had the best experience while we were enjoying our wine! Breakfast was also great. Rooms were spacious, clean and had everything we needed."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sabando?
The best area to stay in Sabando, Basque Country, is directly within the village of Sabando itself, particularly around the central church and its immediate surroundings.

This compact village is located in the Álava mountains and offers a truly tranquil rural experience. The main features are the historic San Blas church and the traditional stone houses that line its quiet lanes. It's a place where you'll find local life unfolding at a relaxed pace, with fields and forests immediately surrounding the village.

Couples looking for a peaceful getaway will find Sabando ideal. It's great for enjoying scenic walks directly from your accommodation, exploring the nearby Montaña Alavesa region, and savouring local cuisine in a close-knit community setting. The lack of urban distractions means quality time together amidst beautiful natural landscapes.

For solo travellers seeking solitude and a connection with nature, Sabando provides an excellent base. You can easily access hiking and cycling trails that weave through the surrounding hills and valleys, offering stunning views and a chance to unwind.
When is the best time to go to Sabando?
The best time to visit Sabando is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer the most pleasant weather for exploring the natural beauty of the area. You'll find mild temperatures, ideal for hiking and enjoying the outdoors, without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. The countryside is particularly picturesque during these seasons, with wildflowers blooming in spring and the foliage changing colour in autumn.

For those interested in outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, spring and autumn are perfect. The trails around Sabando, such as those leading to the Izki Natural Park, are well-maintained and offer stunning views. You'll find the weather comfortable enough for longer excursions, and there are fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months.

If you're planning a quiet getaway, visiting in May or September can be particularly rewarding. The local villages are relaxed, and you can enjoy the regional cuisine and local wines at a leisurely pace.
