"The room was absolutely ridiculous the vinyl flooring was lifted up to where I nearly sliced the bottom of my foot open. The bed was terrible and the shower hardly has any water pressure at all. Most of the rooms are vacant. Not because people have not rented them it's because they are completely destroyed and in need of serious renovation and I would even say demolition. All the reviews talking about how wonderful clean and nice the rooms are is nothing but a lie there is no possible way that could be true at this place. I have traveled for the last 30 years all over this country and in multiple countries and I can say 100% this is the worst large motel that I have ever been to In my life and again it needs to be demolished. There is no possible way that this building or any of the buildings with this Motel can be considered safe when the windows to the rooms are broken and I mean cracks from the top of the roof down to the floor broken. This is on at least seven of the rooms that I have walked by and the flooring in my room is not safe at all for anybody and I have had to wear shoes the whole time because the flooring is sticking up so if you walk through in the middle of the night you will slice your foot open. If there is anyone that says that this place is safe or niceon their reviews it is a flat out lie and nothing but BS. This place needs to be condemned and demolished, period. It is so far past renovation that it needs to be demolished and they need to start over."

"PROS: The desk attendant was very nice. Location was convenient. CONS: The hotel smelled very strongly of weed. It was OVERPOWERING throughout the entire building, day and night. The hallway carpets were very dirty and stained. The hotel was under construction. Men were working on the exterior, and this was not disclosed when I booked my room. All parking spots were roped off, and I had to park far away and carry my luggage all the way in. I went to my room and immediately noticed that the carpet did not look vacuumed, there were dark red stains on the floor by the bed, piles of something that looked like burnt candle wax and something brown splattered outside of the bathroom door. Bathroom and kitchen otherwise clean. Comforter on the bed smelled used, so I tossed it. In the a.m. the construction started at 6am. On a Friday morning. Is this legal? Men were on scaffolding right outside my window working on the brick. The noise was an issue; I had to work remotely while I was there, and it would have been nice to not be woken up at 6am to the sounds of construction and deal with the noise all day. I tried to get on the wi-fi and had to sign up for a Sonesta membership to access it. It still wouldn't work and I attempted to call the front desk and the phone didn't work. They said I had to come down. For the other day and a half, I was there, there was no one at the desk at all. The walls are very thin. I would NOT stay here again when traveling for work."

Hyatt House Auburn Hills / Detroit

"This is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are pristine. Breakfast was great. I was bummed to not be able to have more time to use the pool and hotel gym/workout area. We have usually been Holiday Inn Express travelers, but we are not hooked on this Hyatt House property. There is excellent proximity to Great Lakes Crossing and many, many fantastic restaurants. We are already planning our next trip."

"I would never recommend this hotel to anyone! The hotel is very run down and doesn’t have a working elevator (May 2026). I was not given the room I reserved (Reserved king size, got 2 fulls instead). The person who checked me in made a “joke” that I should get to breakfast early the next day because an ethnic group of people staying would eat all the food. This was all within the first few minutes of being in the hotel. When I walked in my room, it smelled stale and was gross all around. The curtains in the room had stains all over them and pin holes. They were also partially pulled down so it was hard to get the room dark. The walls had stains/marks, one headboard was heavily marked up/scratched. The plugs and USB outlets between the beds didn’t work. The one that did was loose, so the charger fell out a lot. The fridge in the room was loud when it “kicked on” (not constant). In the bathroom, the tub had tons of mildew, the toilet seat was loose, and the shower curtain rod was twisted and looked unstable. I didn't use the shower because it looked so bad. I left the hotel as soon as I got up because I didn’t want to stay any longer than I had to."

"Beautiful property but there wasn’t extra toilet paper and Kleenex in the room and the bathroom shelf wasn’t secure. It was also pretty warm and we didn’t have individual control of our room temp. A mini fridge would have gone a long way. There was also no tea in the lobby. I would stay there again in the spring or fall. "
