Welcome to Cooks Chalet.
This beautiful waterfront chalet rests on a quiet bay and secluded private lot, on Upper Rideau Lake. Take in beautiful sunrises from the large deck overlooking the bay. 50 steps gets you into pristine water off your own private dock, there you will find chairs, a canoe, two kayaks and a rowboat for your pleasure. Lots of quiet areas to walk or hike nearby. Enjoy the awesome view of the lake while relaxing with your favorite beverage.
The chalet has three bedrooms, a loft with two double beds . There is a fully equipped kitchen(minus a dishwasher), BBQ and the cottage is wifi enabled. The spacious living room has a flat screen smart T.V. and board games are available. The basement is outfitted with a ping pong table and there are plenty of available inflatable water toys to enjoy.
The chalet is fully winterized and snowshoes and cross country skis are available for winter exploring.
The chalet is a 10 minute drive from the Historic town of Westport where you will find great shopping, walking trails, grocery stores, restaurants, wineries and brew pubs. The chalet is also a 20 minute drive from the Historic town of Perth, which boasts great museums, historic tours, banking, hospitals, parks and breweries. Relaxing stay in the woods
The cottage was spacious and has a beautiful view of the lake from the open dining/living room area. We saw lots of wildlife, including a deer who visited us often, nibbling on greens near the cabin—my daughters named her “Petunia”. All of the sheets, blankets, and towels provided were freshly washed and ready! The kitchen has most everything you need. The kayaks were a big hit with my kids. Village of Westport is about 15 minutes away and is a beautiful! We enjoyed our stay very much.

Summer vacation
Casey was very good to respond quickly to all the questions. The water near the dock is weedy. We still enjoyed the swim and the kids loved to jump from the dock. The 2 kayaks, the canoe and the row boat were fun to paddle since the water is calm near the cottage. The temperature of the water at the cottage was variable. With children, we needed to be careful.

Perfect Getaway
We spent a wonderful week at the cottage with our two kids, aged 10 and 12. They enjoyed the water and equipment available to use. Ping pong table was a nice bonus! The cottage was very comfortable for the 4 of us and just what we expected from the listing. Westport is close by and easy to access for anything needed.

Relaxing week
We had a wonderful week at Cook’s Chalet. The kids enjoyed exploring the property and even saw a deer while out for a walk. The cottage was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed visiting the town of Westport several times for ice cream, a winery lunch and a trip to the beach. We even enjoyed a night of live music at The Cove. It was the perfect mix of quiet time by the lake and exploring a new (to us) town.
