"In life, you take the crunchy with the smooth... this is an eccentric place, and I loved the decor and artwork inside. The room was not huge but decent sized and wasn't shiny and beige like other newer places. The heater is very loud but outside is very quiet. It's in a very convenient location, the staff was awesome, the breakfast was nothing to write home about, but it served the purpose. All in all, a fun place to stay and I'm glad we chose this instead of one of the large chain places."

Please keep in mind that this place is a living place of historic significance. The original training center for fireman since 1856!!!. Please dont judge it until you get inside. "The staff are friendly and helpful. There's a kitchen and a guest living room in the hallway, with other rooms surrounding them. The bathroom is public but has privacy, which is okay. The room is quiet, and, most importantly, it is close to Brown and RISD if you are visiting either, since the hotel is on College Hill. The booking assistant, Stefano, responded very quickly each time I needed anything. Overall, it's quite nice and clean."
