The property was quite beautiful and impeccably maintained. A number of people recommended that we not venture into Punta Cana (the city) as it was not safe for tourists, but the resort had everything available on site. The wait staff in the restaurants did not speak any English but there was always someone who did. Not a complaint though it's there country and their language not ours. Overall a great trip. The only thin that was lacking was the transportation provided by the resort. Very disorganized and our transport to the airport never even showed up. We had already paid for the ride to the airport and we had to pay again for a private cab or miss our flight.

The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Multiple pools and waterparks made it feel not crowded. The buffet had a nice selection. Food was plentiful throughout the day. Downside was smoking allowed at pool. Also beach was very crowded. People reserved chairs and huts and didn't use them half of the time. Lastly, to make reservations for the restaurants was tedious and some not available when we tried to reserve.

Third time at Esmeralda section. After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to go. Glad we went. Staff are amazing, hardworking and friendly, food is good. Entertainment in the square and theatre was a bit boring compared to previous trips. At Esmeralda it was good. Grounds are impeccable, pool and beach are great. Lots of palapas and chairs. Room was good with lots of toiletries and drinks, which were refilled daily. Will definitely return.

Enjoyable place to stay. Clean and well kept. Large rooms. Friendly staff. Food is okay. Bookable restaurants are best for dinner. Avoid Bella Italia, understaffed and food undercooked. 4 Pools at this hotel. 1 Pool is adults only but not enforced. Close to the beach, no need to take the resort train. Snack bar on the beach is great for lunch. Beach is soft sand with many recliners. Bar quality is inconstant. Don't expect every drink on the menu at all times of day. Bars are properly staffed in evenings during entertainment. Would return to this complex but trying Amber next. Appears to be more well kept with newer buildings like the Coffee Shop and Sports Bar.
