Everything was as described in listing. Location is not Centro but the Pitillal neighborhood is very convenient to getting around. You can walk to the bay along what we were fond of calling the Pitillal Malevon (a path along the Pitillal River) where the path ends and meets by the bay you can often see crocodile and there is an excellent beachside restaurant. Busses to the Romantic Zone, Centro, and Marina are frequent and inexpensive. There are a bunch of local restaurants in Pitillal Center. We loved Don Chilliquilles for breakfast. There is a Casino and Walmart in easy walk at MacroPlaza and a Sorianos Supermarket very nearby. Costco is not too far away. We had two issues during our 3 months stay. The water pump went out for building, but host was very responsive in expediting the repair. Second issue was we were on our trip when the infamous cartel violence happened. Our host alerted us as to what was going on to keep us safe. We were actually 200 miles away in Guadalajara but the heads up was very appreciated. Speaking of the violence, yes it was real, but it was shortlived and exaggerated by the media. Do not let the television and AI videos deter you from going to this paradise. One hint about groceries, don't assume the super stores are the cheapest, often the small local stores will have better deals than the big stores. Es una excelente opción para hospedarse, Departamento con todas las comodidades.

Excelente opción ya que cuenta con vialidades importantes, muy cerca del centro de Vallarta. El departamento muy cómodo y en excelentes condiciones. Definitivamente es una gran opción para hospedarse.

Great Apartment in a great Mexican neighborhood

This apartment was excellent for our 5 week stay in Puerto Vallarta. The unit was clean and had probably been renovated quite recently. It was great having a washing machine and air-conditioning. The apartment is in a residential area but it was very safe and everyone was quite friendly. We could walk down to the public beach in the hotel zone along the Pitillal River in about 30 minutes but found that getting around by bus was very easy and cheap (10 pesos for a bus to go to the Malecon or Old Town/Romantic Zone in 20 minutes) It was close to all sorts of grocery stores Small shops within 5 minute walk and larger Serianos, Walmart, Comers and Costco in a 10 to 20 minute walk. We very much enjoyed the apartment as well. The kitchen area had a full sized refrigerator and the gas stove worked great. Although very few people speak English in this area we did manage to enjoy the small shops and restaurants as everyone was friendly and accommodating to us. I would mention that if you only speak English, go to the Mr. Ice Cream shop on the corner of Augustin Flores and De la Higuera. The owner JC is a Canadian expat and a good source for information. Sorry if this review focuses on the Pitillal neighborhood as well as the apartment but both were wonderful!! The only downside was that sometimes there was loud music coming from 1 or 2 of the other apartments quite late into the night but this was usually only on Fridays and Saturdays.
