The unit was clean and had probably been renovated quite recently. It was great having a washing machine and air-conditioning. The apartment is in a residential area but it was very safe and everyone was quite friendly. We could walk down to the public beach in the hotel zone along the Pitillal River in about 30 minutes but found that getting around by bus was very easy and cheap (10 pesos for a bus to go to the Malecon or Old Town/Romantic Zone in 20 minutes) It was close to all sorts of grocery stores Small shops within 5 minute walk and larger Serianos, Walmart, Comers and Costco in a 10 to 20 minute walk. We very much enjoyed the apartment as well. The kitchen area had a full sized refrigerator and the gas stove worked great. Although very few people speak English in this area we did manage to enjoy the small shops and restaurants as everyone was friendly and accommodating to us. I would mention that if you only speak English, go to the Mr. Ice Cream shop on the corner of Augustin Flores and De la Higuera. The owner JC is a Canadian expat and a good source for information. Sorry if this review focuses on the Pitillal neighborhood as well as the apartment but both were wonderful!! The only downside was that sometimes there was loud music coming from 1 or 2 of the other apartments quite late into the night but this was usually only on Fridays and Saturdays. ##### Brian H.
