"Gorgeous historic property, beautiful fountain courtyard, artistic tile lobby perfectly appointed with leather southwestern furniture to perfect the vibe. The food at the restaurant was top quality and the craft cocktails were literally perfect. Quiet and classy with comfortable beds and linens too. My only disappointment was that the fountain on our private patio was not functioning. Otherwise 5 stars!"

"Had hot water in shower that was very soothing after driving 450 miles. Ac worked great. Bed was adequate. Room was small, but ok for us cause we are small. Microwave worked great. Fridge was real good, nice and cold and ut had a separate freezer, which when traveling across the country, we were able to refreeze our cold packs...a big plus there. Got to listen to several trains passing by a few hundred yards away at night, something we haven't gotten to experience since we was children...pretty groovy"

"This is an older property. Everything looks tired and worn, although clean. Our room was fairly spacious with adequate furniture and a good bed. Unfortunately, the A/C had an odd odor and couldn't keep up with the Texas July heat. Maybe summer is not the best time to come here. Also, something to consider for light sleepers: the train tracks go literally right behind the property, with freight trains going through all night."

"This was my second time staying at James' place, and it won't be my last. It's a big, clean, fun, quirky, comfortable, secure place and James is a great host. It's also nice that there's a Dollar Tree close by to walk over and pick up a few things. And now that I know they're pet-friendly, I'll be bringing my dog next time. Thanks, James! See you down the road!"
