This renovated cottage is located a block away from beautiful Wilshire Park and four blocks away from popular Alberta Street, and two blocks away from the Alameda neighborhood. As experienced vacation rental owners, we understand that you are looking for a five star experience, which we happily provide. This property is about 15 minutes from our airport and less than ten minutes to downtown. Located on a completely private section of our large grounds, this cottage has a privately fenced area and entry. You are guaranteed off street parking right by your cottage gate! Great attention has been given to detail and consideration for comfort, with an upbeat artistic style of professional design. We pride ourselves in high end finishes, including a Tuft and Needle mattress, all down pillows, down duvets, and luxurious linens. However, for those of you who prefer down alternative bedding and pillows, we can provide these as well. Our fully equipped kitchen includes white shaker cabinets, quartz countertops, a gas range, dishwasher, microwave, full size refrigerator, as well as white dishes, many serving options, a large assortment of spices, coffee, tea, cookware and more. We are eco friendly and provide recyclable grocery bags for your convenience , as well as promoting recycling. Of course, our cottage includes a washer and dryer, with detergent provided., as well as an ironing board and iron. The bathroom has a double seated shower, with a vanity that will hold most of what you may have forgotten on your way out, while you were packing. In case you are concerned, we offer organic cleaning and laundry supplies, throughout the unit. For business travelers and others, we provide all the amenities that you want: high speed internet, a smart tv, with a generous cable offering and two leather recliners to watch your favorite programs from! The living room also has a full size leather sofa, a desk and a dining room table that seats a party of four. Come discover this special location in NE Portland! In addition, we have off street parking for up to two cars, right at the cottage entrance. Please note that a sizable mini split heating and cooling unit has been installed in the cottage!! Long term tenants are welcome!!! As a side note, our yard is considered a private space. We have a well behaved dog, who is in the yard off and on throughout the day, with my being present . As such, we ask that you not use the yard door, unless we have arranged a meet and greet with my little pup. This cottage is legally permitted by the City of Portland: 17-118035-000-00-HO Please consider purchasing a cancellation insurance policy through CSA insurance company prior to making a reservation. You can book this through VRBO directly and can reach them at 877/202/4291. Please note that we are dutifully adhering to strict cleanliness. It was the perfect location for me, access to the city, restuarants, shops, grocery store and nearby parks. The kitchen was well stocked. The personalized treatment and hospitality was amazing and the added bottle of wine on arrival was a very nice touch after a long travel day. The location was perfect and worked well for visiting family and exploring the city. The nearby park provided a great place to walk and relax, and Lil's added cheer with fresh tomatos and offering of banana bread were greatly appreciated. We will be back and we highly recommend this vacation cottage for anyone looking to have a wonderful and relaxing stay in Portland!! Well done Lil!! ##### MARK N. Lill is an excellent host who was available and quick to answer questions when needed. She was quite helpful and close by, but we accessed the home without meeting her and we never felt our space was imposed upon. The home is well appointed, comfortable, and peaceful. The listing is accurate. The location was great- we were able to get anywhere we wanted to go with ease. Being able to walk to the park was a nice bonus. Lill is a wonderful host, she provides everything you could need and more, and is super responsive and nice. I appreciated how clear the instructions in the house manual are, you don't always get that and have to guess or ask questions. My husband and I had just the right amount of space to relax, cook when we felt like it, and have our two adult kids share a meal with us there a couple of times. The bed and bedding are super cozy and comfortable, which we much appreciated too! We will definitely stay here again on future visits. 5 stars!!! ##### Robin M. The Zen Cottage was the tranquil oasis we needed after a taxing air travel to Portland during the global IT outage. We were delayed 24 hours but communication with host was easy and check-in was organized and efficient. The cottage is exactly as it is described and pictured: CLEAN, well appointed, and comfortable. The host has thought of everything you might need (or forget) while traveling. The bed and sofa bed were comfortable; the kitchen was organized and had anything you might need; and the bathroom was equally equipped with shampoos and shower gels and lots of towels. Did I mention clean? It is immaculate! The neighborhood was quiet and well situated to the areas we were visiting. We will return for sure. Thank you Zen Cottage for a wonderful stay! ##### Lisa H. You can expect a neatly well-stocked home, divine bedding (even the pull-out) and joyful views of birds and grand fig trees through kitchen window. On the street, you’ll pass just a handful of houses fronted by careful gardens on your way to indulge in nature at Wilshire Park. The hostess provided a perfect balance of support and privacy – quick to respond to queries, yet never intruding. Often, it’s the little touches that matter – being greeted with my favorite wine, finding her succinct, yet warm and friendly, property manual.
