"The lighting in the bathroom was not good and while the room was clean, it was not spotless and housekeeping did not come for 3 days although I could have requested it. There was no housekeeping option on the door tag. The television channels were quite limited and movies and room service prices were very high. I would not stay there again. "

"The best (and perhaps the only good thing) that can be said about Congress Plaza Hotel is its excellent location at a bargain. There's no AC in rooms, water from the shower is luke warm, rooms have not been renovated since the Bears won a SB (perhaps even earlier). But boy - do you get an excellent location at a great price. So if the plan is to spend the money sightseeing this beautiful city, eat at its wonderfully diverse restaurants and not spend the vacay budget on a hotel (or stay 2 miles and an Uber trip away from everything), then this is your hotel. "

"The room was very clean and smelled fresh. The staff was super nice and even gave a number to contact them if i needed anything at all. The location was so nice because it was near everything so there was no need for a car as well. The host was very considerate and even included earplugs and a white noise machine because of the close proximity of the railway! Would definitely recommend to others!"

"Had to change rooms because the floor in the bathroom has sticky stuff all over it, plus hair in the shower. The elevator sounds like a rocket ship, so no matter what room you have, you can hear it going up or down. Other than that, it has great views!"

"Pros: Excellent location!! Super close to Shedd and Field. It’s in a quieter part of town — perfect for families with young kids!! Cons: We had two rooms during our visit. The non-city view room was super dark and dreary and seemed a bit run down. The city view room was much nicer! On our second night, my kids used the hot tub and there was clearly too much chlorine added. Our eyes watered, it caused us to cough, and the foam literally bleached and caused the fabric on their bathing suits to wrinkle and disintegrate. (They swam on the first night and the water was fine!) The evening staff were completely useless. Another big inconvenience… Our door dash order didn’t include any plasticware. (We had ordered some pasta dishes.) The front desk staff could not provide us with any. Any?! It seemed incredibly odd that a giant hotel wouldn’t have any forks or spoons, anywhere?? I was advised to “check the breakfast area on the 8th floor” and found all of the cupboards locked. And don’t sell cups of microwaveable oatmeal and mac and cheese if you don’t also offer utensils. Common sense. Seriously, we’re pretty easy to please while traveling. But the complete lack of motivation by the nighttime staff and the pool water fiasco really made me upset. "
