The space
Built in 1917 and thoughtfully updated, Lake Erie Escape blends historic character with modern amenities to create a welcoming retreat. Original architectural details, spacious gathering areas, and comfortable accommodations make it an ideal home base for family vacations, fishing trips, and Lake Erie adventures. Whether you’re exploring nearby attractions or simply enjoying time together, you’ll feel right at home.

Entryway

Step through the front door and into a welcoming foyer where historic charm meets modern comfort. Original leaded glass details and warm finishes set the tone for a relaxing stay from the moment you arrive. See house manual for Front Door instructions prior to use. The primary entry source is around back with the private driveway.

Living Room

Unwind in the cozy living room featuring comfortable seating, an electric fireplace, and beautiful original windows that fill the space with natural light. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a movie, read a book, or gather after a day exploring Lake Erie.

Dining Room

The spacious dining room is designed for bringing everyone together. Whether you’re enjoying breakfast before a day on the water or sharing dinner after sunset, there’s plenty of room to create lasting memories.

Kitchen

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals during your stay. With ample counter space, modern appliances, cookware, dishes, and essentials, cooking for a family or group is easy and convenient. A grill is located on the back deck just off the Kitchen at the back door. This is the primary entry/exit location.

Bedrooms

Each bedroom has been thoughtfully designed to provide a peaceful retreat, combining comfortable beds, quality linens, and tasteful décor. With accommodations for up to 12 guests across five bedrooms, everyone has their own place to relax and recharge. One bedroom is on the main level while the other four are located on the 2nd floor.

Bathrooms

The home’s bathrooms are stocked with fresh towels and essential amenities to make your stay comfortable, whether you’re getting ready for a day on the lake or winding down in the evening. One full bathroom located on the main level, the other on the 2nd floor.

Attic Living Space

The finished attic offers an additional gathering area perfect for kids, teens, or anyone looking for a quiet place to relax, play games, or watch TV. There is a designated desk workspace and one additional twin bed. This area gets warm in the summer months, so keep the door open and fan on for proper airflow.

Laundry Area

A washer and dryer are available in the Basement for guest use, making longer stays and family vacations even more convenient. Check pockets. Please avoid washing sandy towels or excessively muddy clothing without shaking debris outside first. Only use the provided detergent, do not use bleach. Our goal is to maintain an allergy-free space for all to utilize.

Back Deck

The expansive 16’ × 32’ covered deck is the perfect outdoor gathering space. Enjoy your morning coffee, grill dinner, or relax with friends and family while taking in the fresh Lake Erie air.

Yard & Outdoor Amenities

The spacious yard is fully fenced-in and offers room to spread out and enjoy the outdoors. Challenge your group to a game of basketball, enjoy the ample parking for vehicles and boats, or request use of the fish cleaning table after a successful day on the water.

Parking

Plenty of off-street parking makes arriving easy, with space for multiple vehicles, trailers, and boats—ideal for fishing trips, family vacations, and group getaways. Private driveway around back between the house and garage, side stone lot along the alley.

Guest access
Guests will have exclusive access to the entire home and outdoor space during their stay. This includes all five bedrooms, both bathrooms, the fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, finished attic living space, laundry area, and the spacious 16’ × 32’ covered deck.

You’ll also have access to the private driveway with ample parking for multiple vehicles, boats, and trailers, as well as the basketball hoop and yard. A fish cleaning table is available upon request for guests planning a day of fishing on Lake Erie.

Self check-in makes arrival easy, allowing you to begin your vacation on your schedule. Please note that any locked owner’s closets or utility areas are reserved for host use and are not accessible to guests.

Other things to note
Lake Erie Escape is a beautifully maintained historic home. While it has been thoughtfully updated with modern amenities, it still retains the character and craftsmanship that make historic homes so special. We kindly ask all guests to treat the home with the same care and respect they would their own so it can continue to be enjoyed for generations to come.

Please remember that older homes have unique characteristics that add to their charm. You may notice features such as original woodwork, windows, doors, and architectural details that have been carefully preserved. We ask that guests avoid excessive wear and tear, report any accidental damage promptly, and follow the house rules to help us maintain the home’s historic character.

The original front door deserves a little extra care. To help preserve it, please open and close it gently and avoid slamming it. This small step helps protect the door and its historic hardware so future guests can continue to enjoy this beautiful piece of the home’s history.
