My fiancé and I stayed here for 6 days and 5 nights and would recommend Casa do Contador to anyone traveling to Sao Miguel Island! Centrally located, fantastic dining options, breakfast brought to the door every morning, and fantastic service and communication from the staff! 10/10!

Amazing breakfast basket with fresh local pastries, butter, milk and juice. Welcoming staff. Great space with a perfect oasis in the backyard. Would come again!

This is truly a fantastic place to stay. Stayed her with wife & 2 teenagers in March 2024. Honestly, it would be a mistake not to stay here to fully enjoy the city. Location is perfect, in the downtown centre of ponta Delgada, great for walking anywhere. Parking of course can be tricky during business hours , if you're looking for free close parking, but didn't cause much concern - paid parking is still close by and really reasonable, compared to north American standards. European style breakfast delivered to the door is great, with a good selection of fresh baked local breads, fruit, meat/cheese, yogurt, fresh juice & more, slightly different daily. Just wish there was a coffee machine in the room, rather than instant coffee and a kettle, but the espresso machine in the lobby is close by. Super helpful staff, Leticia at front desk is awesome, and even the resident cat in the garden treats everyone like they're his favourite person in the world. Pretty sure the cat's on the payroll. Thanks to everyone, we'll be back.

Fantastic property! We loved our 8 day stay at Casa do Contador - the daily breakfast basket was a highlight. Communication with staff via WhatsApp & face to face was excellent. Everything you need is within walking distance.

I loved staying here!! Great central location with access to many places to visit such as restaurants, shopping and gardens. I loved having a code for access after hours and how the room was waiting for me. I also appreciated having a taxi booked for me when I needed to get back to the airport. And the breakfast was to die for!! So much food I actually had to pack a lot with me which made a great lunch. Would definitely stay here again!! Highly recommend.

We booked one of the smaller suites and it was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our time here. The balcony overlooked the courtyard in the back, and the kitchen had pretty much everything you would need to cook a basic meal. Most units appear to require stairs to access. There are also cats that live on site, and in our unit they were able to jump onto the balcony (we enjoyed this). In the mornings, an excellent breakfast basket was delivered to our door (bread, fruits, eggs, yogurt, milk, juice, granola, etc). In addition, there was a good espresso maker in the lobby. The place is walking distance from downtown locations - perhaps 10-15 minutes from the water front. Parking is a bit of a challenge, although the hotel provided a map of the surrounding streets where there was free and paid parking available. Finding a space may require some driving around, although we found spots were easier to come by in the evenings. If using a paid spot, it is possible to feed the meter after hours and have the payment carry over until the morning. We had a slight issue on our last day where the next days guests were able to enter our room prior to us checking out (apparently they had the same code and figured they would check if the room might be ready early). This may be an area for improvement (perhaps cycle room door codes?). Otherwise a fantastic stay and would highly recommend.

Casa do Contador was well located in Ponta Delgada with all downtown activities within walking distance. The property didn’t feel like it was in the city, with a quaint outdoor space. We loved the cats that roamed around. The room itself was clean and spacious and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay (fridge, sink, iron)

Great location, clean and modern decor, communicative support staff. Only issue I had: a slightly damp smell in my unit on the ground floor. Would still recommend but advise the host to fix this asap. Otherwise lovely stay in a fantastic location.

There is no lift and we were in unit 6 which was on the 3rd (top) floor. Keep in mind, each floor has 10 foot ceilings. So I had to carry 250 lbs. of luggage up and down 45 stairs. These aren't all modern stairs. Some are super steep and also taller steps than usual. not something for the faint of heart to be sure. There's only one little bar/cafe in the area, otherwise you have to walk about a half mile to get to any restaurants. The room was clean and it was nice but the views were less than ideal. If you're on a budget and don't mind humping your luggage up and down stairs, it would be a good place but it was not really what we were looking for.

An amazing place to stay. Right in Ponta Delgada, coukd walk everywhere easily, but also a quiet oasis. The backyard pool and lounge area was so relaxing. The breakfasts were fantastic. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Lovely place to stay - very walkable location. Only downside is the parking - if you have a rental vehicle, parking can sometimes be very difficult as there are no designated spots and street parking is limited.

The staff were amazing, they all spoke perfect English and were extremely helpful in booking tours and always gave great advice. We received a food basket every morning, milk ,OJ, granola, breads , jam, yogurt, some meat and cheese, hard boiled eggs, and fruit, as well as a few other items. You also get a list so you can delete items you don’t need the next morning. Short walk to the town. 👍

Amazing hotel, cool vibe and spacious room. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Area is very walkable. Many great restaurants in the area. Breakfast basket delivered each morning was a special touch. The garden was under renovation during our visit, so we look forward to returning once it is completed. Free street parking in the area (we were always able to find a spot). Will definitely return!

This old kindergarten still retains its charm, and the renovation to small apartments is pretty great. The building is well maintained, clean & well equipped. In an area easy to walk to the centre, on a one way street in the old town, driving can be a bit hairy, we were lucky to find parking mostly nearby. The garden & pool area was undergoing renovation, so unfortunately unusable at the time we were there. Staff are great, friendly & helpful.

Thank you for a lovely stay
What a lovely stay! Staff were super welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is delivered to your door every morning in the form of a huge wicker basket full of fresh and pickled goodies that makes you feel real homey. On New Year's Eve they unexpectedly added a bottle of local fizzy wine. Room was clean and well maintained, with enough space for clothes, a spacious shower, comfy bed. Location is perfect - quiet street 10 minute walk from downtown and all its restaurants, several botanical gradens, and a major mall. There's an all-night bakery next door that has fresh bread and buns if you get peckish. All in all, this might well have been the nicest, most welcoming hotel stay I've had on my various travels - which was exactly what I needed in a trip where my luggage was mislaid by my Canadian airline and only delivered on my 4th day there.

It is a beautiful place to stay. The town proper is within walking distance. Easy to navigate and located in the middle of town. You'll enjoy the daily breakfast, especially if you're into organic and local foods. Not to mention the front desk staff are very friendly and helpful in spite of their limited availability within the facility. The only downside was the construction noise.

Wunderbare Unterbringung, sehr sauber & sehr bequemes Bett! Der Garten ist sehr gepflegt und es ist angenehm, sich dort aufzuhalten. Das Frühstück wurde jeden morgen aufs Zimmer gebracht! Kann ich absolut empfehlen

Total schönes Hotel, nette Angestellte, tolles Ambiente und super gelegen zwischen neuer Einkaufsmeile und Bauernmarkt, Innenstadt in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. War eher Ferienwohnung mit Frühstück und Reinigungsservice, gut ausgestattete Küche, so dass wir uns regelmäßig mit frischem Fisch und Fleisch vom Bauernmarkt selber bekocht haben.

We spent almost a week at Casa do Contador and had a wonderful stay there. - Hospitality: great expierence before, during and after the stay. Ligia at the front desk was always happy to help, gave us tips for trips and restaurants, local specialities and hidden places. - Location: awesame location with a lot of positivity, furnishings chosen with very good taste, matching the history of the house. The pool area istn't big, but enough and we spent there one beatiful aftrernoon (with cats, which are really georgius). - Breakfast: amazing breakfast basket provided every morning in front of the door. Delicius and frehs food, milk, juice, bread and fruits. Our kids loved the granola with provided youghurt. Personally i love the sustainibility idea mostly, no waste! - Parking spaces: information is provided by Casa do Contador, where to park. We usually parked 50m away from the hotel and had no problems with finding any free parking spaces. - Across the street is a small backery with delicius croissants with chocolade, you must try them! The have alos another pasteries worth to try. ♡♡♡♡We had a lovely stay in Ponta Delgada and Sao Miguel, Casa do Contador maked it perfect!!! ♡♡♡♡ Thank you!

Sehr schön und alles sehr gepflegt. Frühstück speziell in einem korb vor der Türe zum im Zimmer essen. Zentral gelegen. Sehr zu empfehlen

Wir hatten das Appartement direkt am Garten. Es ist gut ausgestattet und wunderbar ruhig. Der direkte Zugang zum Pool ist perfekt. Die Parkplatzsuche in der Umgebung ist schwierig. Das Frühstück wird jeden Morgen an die Tür gebracht, müsste aber etwas abwechslungsreicher sein.

L'hôtel est propre dans son ensemble, une toute petite piscine pour le bonheur des tous petits. Nous sommes rentrés une petite semaine et le petit déjeuner était identique tous les matins...dommage car un peu de variété ( fruit de saison, crèpe, gaufres ou de la viennoiserie) aurait été la bienvenue...
