"We booked a package through Expedia and got an ocean view suite room in the Diamond Head tower. We weren’t pleased with our room. When you walked in, it was the bedroom separated from the balcony/view. It was an absolute dungeon of a room. No windows, no natural light. The door was 2 feet from the bed. You heard everything outside. The bar with the live music, and every noise in the hallway. The living room had a pull out bed and that was where you saw the view of the ocean. We tried to get moved but had a list and didn’t get moved.
If I did it again, I probably wouldn’t go through Expedia to get a nicer room. It felt like they put us on the top floor, all the way tucked back to the corner room because we booked through Expedia.
Loved the location of the resort though. We stayed around the Hale Koa more than our own.
Staff was super friendly. Food was insanely expensive. Shops were really cool but pricey."
