Te Whare Rangi, a historic Victorian home dating back to 1858, offers a unique retreat with rich heritage. Once home to renowned Nelson photographer William Tyree and former Mayor Edward Everett, it provides stunning views of Haulashore Island, the Boulder Bank, Tasman Bay, Abel Tasman National Park, and the Tasman and Arthur mountain ranges.

The Abel Abode is one of the private rooms in Te Whare Rangi, offering a lockable space with a charming garden view that creates a peaceful ambiance. The room’s convenience is a standout feature, allowing guests to enjoy the first-floor kitchen, cozy living room, and veranda. A mini-fridge is provided in the room for added comfort, and the first-floor spaces are perfect for outdoor dining or simply relaxing in the serene surroundings of the veranda or garden area.

Enjoy modern amenities, including a Google Home Speaker, a Smart TV with Netflix, and super-fast WiFi with unlimited data. For music lovers, there's a digital baby grand piano.

For larger groups, Abel Abode can be rented alongside Tasman Suite to occupy the entire ground floor. Te Whare Rangi offers other rooms like Puna Perch and Middle Earth, giving guests a range of accommodation options to fit their needs.

- Te Whare Rangi features unique apartments: Abel Abode, Tasman Suite, Middle Earth, and Puna Perch.

Abel Abode is located on the ground floor, along with Tasman Suite. Each apartment has a private, lockable room and access to the shared public areas on the first-floor, including the kitchen, living room, and veranda.

- Young children - This property is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Please enquire before booking.

- Noise in the area - The waterfront road is busy & all properties within this area are subject to some road noise. However, the evenings are typically quiet with much less traffic.

- Car parking - Parking is on-street, nearby and free. We provide recommendations for parking in our arrival details. It is possible to use the driveway during arrival/departure to unload/load bags, but the driveway is steep and does not offer great visibility when exiting so a spotter and extra care is recommended when doing this.

- Check-in is available between 2pm and 8pm.
Later check-in may be possible if needed however an after hours charge will apply.

**Payment, Bond/Security Deposit and Cancellation**:

- A 30% deposit secures your stay with the balance due 3 weeks prior to your arrival (full payment will be required if booking within 3 weeks of arrival).

- Three weeks prior to your arrival (or immediately if booking within 3 weeks of arrival), you’ll need to provide a card authority for the bond/security deposit via our secure online check in process.

- Cancel anytime up until 3 weeks prior to arrival for any reason and you’ll pay no more than 30% of the booking total.

- Where compassionate circumstances for cancellation exist, we’ll be happy to look at further flexibility, usually in the form of postponement of your stay, or a credit towards future stay dates.

- A Rental Agreement document is provided as part of the booking process. Please refer to the agreement for full terms and conditions. :-)

This was a lovely property in a good location for our stay. Beautifully decorated with all the facilities expected. Noisey road at the front of the house due to it being a cut through. The house bedrooms have been divided up into seperate appartments and so some swithches needed are not in your appartment. A concern about security, front door and room door locks great but the period patio doors inside the rooms were poorly secured with flimsy locks.
