"We have been going to Shelter Harbor Inn for decades. After its most recent renovations, the Inn is absolutely beautiful. The design of the inn is lovely. The grounds are stunning. And very importantly, the staff is excellent. There was some confusion re our check in and both the young woman who checked us in (Laci V) and the young woman who checked us out (Laci M) handled the situation perfectly. Sadly, we were only there for one night most recently but we will return."

"We had a lovely time staying at Anne & Jon's! The house fit our large group perfectly, and we felt instantly at home upon arrival. We had traveled in a few cars, but had no trouble finding street parking close by when needed. We loved how close the house was to downtown, and easily could walk to restaurants and shops nearby. Communication was great, and they let us know we could reach out if we needed anything! Lastly, this was the most seamless check in and out process I have ever had with a rental- an easy check list that didn't ask for much!"

"We arrived with a group of 10 adults to a beautiful historic home with seven bedrooms and multiple bathrooms, some en suite. There are multiple areas to sit and lounge. Large dining room table. Beautiful grounds with a large outdoor seating area as well as two porches. The home is beautifully decorated, and we found the beds very comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to prepare a meal. Within walking distance to the water and many shops and restaurants and scenic points in this lovely town. A short drive away you can take one of the river cruises or visit the Mystic aquarium and the old Mystic shops right next-door. We had a lot of fun exploring all the unique features amd layout in this 1808 home. If you enjoy historic buildings, you will feel right at home here. We use Vrbo rentals several times a year, and I can’t think of any negatives with this property!"

"The cottage is very lovely and clean. It's within walking distance of main st making it a very ideal spot for visitors. We enjoyed our stay.The few hiccups we had: we did not have the check in info so I had to contact the host about 1.5 hrs before check in. He was readily available and was definitely helpful. The listing when copied leads to another property not in Mystic which caused some confusion for us (probably not the host's fault). And we had a hard time locking the property. Otherwise, we had no issues."

"The house, neighborhood, and location were fantastic. We were told it was pet-friendly and did bring our dog. We were not told that two dogs freely roam the property. We found out upon arrival when a dog came running toward our dog (who does not do well in these situations). It was very disconcerting. We then needed to text the property owner (who lives in the carriage house on the property) whenever we were taking our dog out to ensure no unanticipated encounters. Due to the dogs being on the property unsupervised, we found dog poop in the yard multiple times.We also had an unexpected find when we were taking the sheets off the beds prior to leaving. The mattress that my son had slept on all week was very badly stained. It did not look like mold/mildew but it also did not look clean.Finally, the owner is preparing to sell the property. We were asked if it would be okay for someone to come by and look at the exterior one afternoon. We agreed - as long as the person remained outside. Well, it was not one person, there were several people, and a few went inside while my kids were there (ages 18 and 14, my husband and I were walking the dog) after I specifically asked that they not do this.All that being said, the house was clean and “as described.” The host did respond when we sent messages both prior to, and during our stay. We had a lovely time in Mystic."

"Great location. The place was spacious and easy for us (2 adults with a kid) to all be in even though it was a studio. The building is old, however. And the bathroom was where you really feel that. The quirks weren't a deal breaker for us since the location was so great. Having the little balcony was also very nice."

Everything was clean, well-organized, and the hosts are very dedicated to taking care of the property and their guests. Communication was near-instantanious when any questions or concerns came up. Probably the best experience I have ever had with a vacation rental. Thank you!"
