Francesca (owner) was exceptionally helpful and communicative when we needed anything. She also just checked in with us to ensure all was okay at various points during our stay. Other things mentioned in reviews have been exaggerated or are unfair in my opinion; the power went off twice during two weeks but was back within 1-minute following the instructions we were sent in advance (and repeated at check-in). Anyone who has stayed in rural Italy before will likely have experienced the same (this is our 6th villa over the last decade and all have had 1 or 2 occasions when the fuses have tripped out). No problem at all and just a feature of the local infrastructure I suspect! We did encounter the ants mentioned in other reviews once when we didn’t clean up some spilled pasta starch quickly enough (surprising choice of food for ants?). However, lesson learned and using the boxes provided for any open food and not leaving any food out meant it was never an issue. Again, this is nothing you wouldn’t expect in a countryside property in the height of summer and certainly not a problem if you follow the advice given. The only 4-star element was check-in as we had to wait an extra half an hour due to the person checking us in expecting the keys to have been left after cleaning/check out of previous guests. No drama as the grounds were so nice to sit and wait! Overall, an exceptional stay.
