Loved the area and trees around quiet . My room the overhead light above the bed didn’t work. And the rug between the bed was a trip hazard maybe have the slip grip underneath it but overall clean and comfortable & the bathroom door a little hard to close

Casa Secoya was lovely, but very loud neighbors staying in the rooms surrounding ours kept us up late then woke us up early. The walls are too thin for a family and dog friendly hotel. But the room was clean and nice! Easy to get to the hotel and lots of parking.

This property was definitely not as advertised. It is very old and in need of repair. There are signs all over the place put up by the health department stating that certain areas (deck/stairs) should not be used because they are unsafe. There were no hotel staff to answer the phone and the office was never open, so you could get no assistance with anything. I would not stay here again nor recommend to anyone.

Cabin was not as pictured in listing. Back porch was not accessible, under construction for our entire stay. We had no warning of this prior to our visit. Bathroom door was jamming. We got stuck several times. Luckily, we had other people in the cabin. No coffee machine as indicated. I asked for one, but didn’t receive a response.

The property needs a refresher. There is an ancient box spring mattress, there was no additional security lock on the door and the room could be cleaner. There was a bottle cork and dirt from previous guests on the floor, and one of the old box springs had no zip cover on it. The pool closes so early, then wasn’t accessible in the morning at the posted time. I had to knock on the office door for an unsociable employee to open the pool up. There was a mixup with online booking, so I had to pay the hotel directly, even though I’d already paid for the room. Either trust the online booking, or don’t advertise with them! If I book a room and pay for it, it is between the two businesses at that point. Casa Secoya called me at 6pm, when I was almost there, and would not check me in unless I paid a second time for the room. It was late, and I felt I had no choice, and didn’t want stress while on vacation. The next morning, the employee at the desk was not personable or helpful when asked to support with the process of getting refunded for my double payment, she couldn’t have cared less and did not even say thank you for staying, have a nice day, nothing! While this property was affordable, I would never stay here again. The key cards didn’t work well either.

Check in time was at 4:00, yet our room wasn’t ready until 5:00. Not good after an 8 hour drive. No coffee maker in the room. No coffee available until after 9:00. The advertisement is very misleading. It shows pics of the large cabin with the bar height counter top with stools. The room was extremely tiny as were the bathrooms. Nothing fancy at all. One pic on the wall. Loved everything about the town and the hiking. Will return but won’t be staying there again.

They keep limited office hours. Email said to text if there are issues and concerns. We had people outside of our room from 11 pm to past midnight making noise. I texted the number and received zero response, even the next 2 days there was not a response. A toilet paper holder was out of the wall and set up on a shelf. It could have been fixed between guests. The door to the bathroom did not close correctly and it made a lot of noise closing and opening it. The rooms are simple. Toilet is very low so anyone with mobility issues may have a problem. There was dust on some of the furniture and the floors needed a more thorough cleaning. Pool hours are limited for the summer, only open until 7 pm. It is a good location for getting out to the coast.

Fine property, kind of like an upgraded motel 6 or old school motel. Good location, right next to Guernewood golf course. Biggest issue was room wasn’t ready at check in due to shortage of housekeeper. I give the front desk clerk credit - he cleaned the room personally, but it was a three hour delay to get into my room.

Best stay away in many years!
Our room was simple, practical, and clean. The grounds were kept and spacious. Plenty of parking on site, beautiful area. Lots of food nearby, beach access nearby, plenty to do even if one does not play golf. My wife loved it so we will plan a return trip in our near future!
