In January, the Marcialonga cross-country ski race takes place between Moena and Canazei.
During the summer months, Moena boasts endless miles of hiking routes, low-level walks and mountain-bike trails. It's also the starting point for Val di Fassa Bike, a cycling marathon held in September. Other activities include hang-gliding, horseback riding, Nordic walking, paragliding and via ferrata climbing. Don’t miss the chance to sample food inspired by a blend of typical Italian flavours and ancient Ladin traditions. The star ingredient of many dishes is Puzzone di Moena, a semi-hard, strong cheese made with raw cow’s milk. Annual festivals celebrate local gastronomy, namely March’s A tavola la Fata delle Dolomiti(At the Table with the Dolomite Fairy) and September’s Sapori d’Autunno (Autumn Flavours).
