"What a wonderful experience!! We stayed at the Barge Inn for a sisters trip and it did not disappoint. The house is spotless, the beds are cozy, and the deck and the views are to die for!! We spent most of our days at the Barge Inn on the deck talking, catching up and soaking up the view. When we arrive 2 eagles flew by at eye level as if to greet us! We so enjoyed them during our stay. When we weren't enjoying the view we went to the beach which was a quick trip by the golf cart that was available. The shore is very rocky(large rocks) so water shoes are important. But, the water was warm and relaxing. Bring a little float and enjoy the barges and boats going by. We also went kayaking in the available kayaks and really enjoyed that as well. The Barge Inn is a little ways away from restaurants and shops, but plan accordingly and enjoy a day trip out or two if you feel the need to get out and about. But, for those that just want to catch up, have some family time, reconnect, the Barge Inn is perfect. LOVED it!!!"

"It was easy to find. I felt safe staying there, as a single female traveler. I checked in late, 1130pm and used the window. Check in was quick and easy. I had trouble finding the ice machine. I was told around on the other side of the building. The gentleman that checked me in ended up coming outside and pointing where the ice machine was. It was around the building... across the parking lot...in the fenced area, that used to be a pool and now filled in and has a fire pit, AND in a shed w/a washer and dryer for guests to use. He should have just said it was across the parking lot, in the shed inside the fence. It did work well and was easy to find after that. Room was clean, except for the floor. Feet were getting dirty, so I went to Dollar Tree and bought me some footies to wear in the room. They got real dirty! Floor needs a good mopping! Everything else was clean looking. Bed was comfortable. Coffee maker, Frig and microwave all worked good. Many places to eat around there. Walmart just down the road. Price was good and I'd stay there again."

"The property itself was absolutely beautiful, and the cabin was older, but really well kept and had plenty of charm.When we first arrived, it took a little while for the cabin to cool down—but considering it was approximately the temperature of the surface of the sun, I’m giving the AC a pass. The downstairs bed was super comfortable. The upstairs bed… well, she tried. But for the price, I really can’t complain.Communication was great, everything went smoothly, and we had absolutely no issues during our stay.Now for the wildlife portion of the review… there was a HUGE snake skin outside, so apparently someone had recently upgraded to a larger outfit. Thankfully, we never met the owner.But at night, the fireflies came out everywhere, and THAT made my heart ridiculously happy. Beautiful property, charming little cabin, great price, a touch of adventure, and a whole lot of firefly magic. I’d definitely stay again… assuming Mr. Snake keeps our relationship strictly long-distance."
