"This property is built in a beautiful location and the Jeep ride to reach there is a little adventure in itself. The only issue I found is that there were these insects that are attracted to light enter the room if we do not close the door. But that was sorted by the staff within sometime. Otherwise it's a great stay. There are limited food options, but you can't expect a buffet spread for this kind of location. Overall we loved our time here."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Makkiyad?
The best time to visit Makkiyad is during the cooler, drier months, typically from October to March.

During these months, the weather is pleasant, with comfortable temperatures and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region. This period avoids the monsoon season, which brings heavy rains and can make travel more challenging.

Couples often find these months great for a relaxing getaway. The clear skies and comfortable climate are ideal for enjoying outdoor activities like nature walks, visiting the local spice plantations, or simply unwinding amidst the green landscapes. Many resorts also offer outdoor dining experiences which are much more enjoyable in this weather.

For travellers interested in wildlife and birdwatching, the cooler season is particularly good. The drier conditions make it easier to spot animals, and many migratory birds are present, adding to the natural spectacle.
