### New modern compact home, warm & cosy, Blue Bay beach bach!
Brand new compact and modern 2 bedroom fully equipped Bach, a recent build, on a sunny section in Blue Bay, Opoutama. Enjoy the close proximity to beautiful swimming beaches and other attractions. This is just the perfect spot for your next stay.
Approx 150 metre walk/access to beach front via sand dunes. Coffee shop/garage and beach cafe around the corner in Opoutama, an approx 5/10 min easy stroll. Maybe you like fitness, try the 5km run down the beach to the Mahia end of the bay.
Come, stay and try the new Rail bike adventures which starts off in Opoutama, a 3 minute walk from our Bach and cycle all the way to Nuhaka, take in the wonderful views along the way.
Maybe a spot of fishing on Black's beach just up the road or launch your boat from the fishing club at Mahia beach or around at Te Mahia on the Gisborne side of the peninsula. Swim, Surfing or paddle boarding perhaps. Take a walk up Mokotahi hill for the brilliant views of the bay and peninsula. You might even get to see a rocket launch too if you are lucky!
Newly ranked, inside top 30 in the world, 9 hole Links Golf Course about 2km down the road, Mahia village 4km drive away with pub, shop and fishing club. Mahanga beach about 10 minute drive away if you want a good surf beach.
Morere hot springs is only a 20 minute drive to have a beautiful soak in the mineral pool or a bush walk.
Please note: The $130 cleaning fee includes a $60 fee we are charged for linen. We do not accept third party bookings so please make sure that if you book our Bach, you are booking for yourself and/or family and not for third parties. We expect our guests whom are staying here have read all these requirements.
All linen and towels are supplied.
A few points of note below for our guests please:
We need your help to conserve our water as much as possible as we are on tank rain water so things like limiting time in showers and not running taps unnecessarily is a requirement please. Common sense approach to water usage and using washing machine most appreciated (we use the quick wash option as its the most efficient with water)
With checking in, you will be required to turn on the knob on the gas bottle, located out the back of Bach, this is for heating water and stove top usage. You will also be required to flick a switch to turn on the electric power inside, as its turned off normally. Instructions for these are within the booking and also emailed by Bookabach to you within 10 days days of your arrival so please look out for the email. It is very straightforward.
A new AC unit has just been installed, In summer time, please always set temperature between 22 and 24 degrees for cooling and not lower e.g. not on 16 degrees as the AC unit races and never gets there. This allows the unit to run most efficiently and works just fine for cooling as we have tested :) In Winter, we found heating set between 21 and 23 degrees max works fine also. We ask that you always run it in economy mode on both fan and vane settings. Please make sure you always turn off the AC unit when you leave the Bach. Please note the AC unit does send reports about usage and its settings.
We also ask that you tidy up before you leave, please wash dishes, empty fridge and take your rubbish away. Used towels and bed linen can be left on shower room floor.

\*\* For our overseas guests, especially from North America, please note that expectations of standards for VRBO/Bookabach can be different in North America to New Zealand and that we may operate in a slightly more relaxed style here but we do still expect all of our rules to be followed, as agreed when booking.
\*\*Mobile phone reception is good for Spark in Mahia but not so good for Vodafone/2 Degrees, in some locations. We have WiFi in our Bach so not that much of an issue.

From booking, to arriving and then leaving the process was seamless. Andrew was brilliant and provided all the necessary communication to make my trip easy.The Bach itself is beautiful, every mod-con you could need in a self contained home away from home.It’s located in a truly picturesque part of NZ. If you love the beach and nature - this is the place for you.I would revisit Mahia and stay here again in a heartbeat.

We arrived in Mahia and had a week of cold wet southerly weather - so no boating and the sea (NE coast) was too murky for snorkelling.After a few days our adult son ( keen surfer) went off to find swells and my wife and I settled in to sit out the bad weather.Andrew and Aroha’s Bach is snug and warm and with the shade screens down securely we were able to spread out and relax. My wife (artist) painted and we both churned thru the holiday reading and walked the beach each day.In spite of the weather we had a wonderful relaxing time.

Property was exactly as advertised. Excellent communication from property managers, super clear info. Place was clean and had everything we needed (except an iron but who needs an iron at the beach!) We were so busy that we didn’t get to hang out there enough, or use the kitchen or bbq! we would definitely stay again. Close to the beach- great for sunset walks. Shower was great, much better than many places we’ve stayed. (We observed the request for short showers and can see why they ask for that- would be so easy to stay in!)

#### Perfect beach bach
After a long drive we were delighted to find how lovely this bach was. And we thoroughly enjoyed our three nights there despite the weather. We still managed a walk to the beach, enjoyed a talk with neighbors, and the coffee and pies at the gas station. The bach had everything we wanted , and much more. Very modern and comfortable. My daughter & her Brides maids used this cosy bach to get ready before heading around to Taylors bay for her wedding. Its out of the way but close to the beach and a small stroll to the corner store for a coffee or hot chips. It served as a beautiful location for the girls to relax and have some fun before the nerves kicked in. My son in law & daughter then got to stay without being disturbed before heading away in their honeymoon. We will no doubt book again.
