Big inconvenience at check in

Due to the house being in our own neighborhood/convenient we rented it for our family visiting. When we entered the house, to our shock, it had not been cleaned and was absolutely filthy! Very inconvenienced we called the owner intending to cancel, he got a cleaning crew there asap, so we gave him a chance to rectify the situation. A few hours later @9pm we could re-enter, house was clean but 2 of our 4 guests refused to stay after seeing the filth. Not the best experience but the 2 guests that stayed in the house thought it was fine after it was cleaned up except for the downstairs bedroom that had a soaking wet carpet! No monetary refund was offered/given by the owner he just offered late check out which we didn’t need. I feel like at least one night should have been refunded.

Great house with a spectacular view! Only thing is the master bathroom needs some attention! The bathroom is large, although the show/tub is small. The master bathroom also has no toilet, you have to walk through the living room and dining room to use the bathroom for the upstairs!

Don’t waste your money unless you like spiders

Has a carport not a garage. Driveway is steep to the point e-brake is needed! Also is single lane so if you need to leave and someone is parked behind you, you have to wait for them to move their car! Master bath has no toilet so it’s not a full bathroom and no working lights. There was cobwebs everywhere inside and outside. Half rolls of toilet paper in both full bathrooms no spares in house. Downstairs smelled horrible like a musty basement. Downstairs bathroom shower wouldn’t drain and had to stand in water while showering. Also downstairs toilet seemed like it didn’t want to flush. We have stayed at well over 10 vrbo’s this past year and this has by far been the worst ever. Property is just poorly maintained and we will never stay at another one of this places listings

Wild life

The property had cobwebs and spiders all inside and out side the house. The porch was covered in debris. Was a quite place with plenty of equipment to cook meals. Go buy bug spray if you plan on sitting on the porch!! Other then those key points the house was okay.

Home is quaint with modpodge of furniture. Very cozy but cleanliness could use some work. As linens were still wet in the washer and the dryer was running when we arrived. Dryer will NOT shut itself off, it literally ran 5 hours while we were out shopping. Couch downstairs was broken and appears to have someone attempt to fix it quite a few times to no avail. We stayed on a holiday weekend and couldn’t take our trash out as everywhere was closed so we had 4 bags of trash piled up. Driveway is STEEP! Had it iced instead of rained we’d have been in big trouble! Good location to shopping and slopes but a heads up on a few of these things would have been nice. Price was still decent for what we were offered but a better description would have been nice.

We enjoyed the stay but lots of bugs.

We really enjoyed our stay except, there were lots and lots of spiders! There were spiders all over the ceilings in the showers on the walls and the blinds are covered in dust and cobwebs. I have a 3 star rating just because of the bug issue other than that we had a great time!

Disastrous Listing

I seriously would recommend that Vrbo check out new listings in person before allowing owners to list with you. False information on sleeping arrangements, lack of dryer, bathroom accommodations (no toilet in third bathroom which was in the master bedroom bathroom). We reached out to Vrbo immediately and the local contact person but after long waits and speaking to many different people it wasn’t until the next afternoon before other accommodations were provided in a different city. We appreciate Tiffiny for getting us settled at a hotel in Bryson City for the rest of our trip! All of this mess costs us time away from our vacation days! Since it was a new listing, we were going by the information on the home without the benefit of previous reviews!! I never expected what we for as I have always been pleased with accommodations through Vrbo in the past.

Excellent Location and View

The location and size of the home were perfect for our party of 8. The house was very spacious, comfortable and had a lot of windows, allowing in natural light and views of the trees. The upstairs deck was the favorite spot for the adults to hang out. The view of the mountains was spectacular. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is a great spot!

A few days in Maggie Valley

Great location, beautiful view. New flooring throughout, new furniture in living/dining area, new beds in most rooms was nice. Needed some updates in kitchen, bath and bunk room. Dishwasher was broken, washing machine but no dryer, no toilet in master bath were inconveniences. Overall a nice stay.
