I loved the location, just a couple blocks from the ancient walled city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was cute and comfy - perfect for a single traveler. I found it very noisy as there were sirens going by all night, trucks rattling down the road, and what I presume were staff hauling things in and out.
Pros - The location is perfect, right outside the train station and across the street from the walls. Breakfast is generous but all cold food. Staff are tremendous! Cons - I hate to say anything bad because we loved Lucca and our stay here but the room had a chemical smell. The shower tile grout had some black?.. The bath towels are super thin like tea towels but we’re changed daily and the pillows are flat. Still, would gladly stay here again.
Location was within 100 meters of train station. I would have appreciated A lightweight cotton blanket to lessen evening chill. Heavy wool blankets were provided, but were much too hot for the month of September.
Great hotel with very helpful staff. Perfect location for train and for wandering Lucca streets. Nice breakfast. Would recommend.
Property is a typical 3star hotel EXCEPT: It’s exceptionally clean Breakfast is great (cereal fruit pastries eggs yogurt meats and cheese and they even bring you a cappuccino) Front desk staff is terrific. They advise about local events and want to help in any way; all with a friendly and professional attitude. Eve tho it’s right next door to the train station I never heard any such noise It’s an easy 5 minute walk to a main gate of the walled city. For short visits where you don’t want to hassle with luggage taxis and getting to a hotel, this is a 1 minute walk from the train station. In minutes you’re checked in and ready to go. This is a great alternative. I’m glad I took it.
