Yes El Salvador is safe but yet they practice the little things that gives you peace of mind. One day I day I am getting ready to drive off and the parking attendant is just finishing from washing my car, that I did not ask to be washed, his response was it showed signs to be dirty so he did as a courtesy and not expecting a tip.
