This is a truly dreadful little hotel. Small rooms, which were dirty and really badly serviced. Housekeeping seemed to be limited to them dumpling a new set of towels and doing nothing else. The room was not cleaned at all during our three night stay, and the bathrooms and floor were grubby when we arrived. We complained but were met by utter indifference. Avoid this place like the plague. It is REALLY bad.

Single room tiny but fine for a night. No one on reception when I arrived, had to wait 10mins for bloke to arrive and when I said I had been waiting, he said he was on his break! Mmm, yes, customer service? Location great, 5mins from Paddington station and tube, 10mins from the abasin where lots of eating options. Great for quick stopover and felt safe as single female traveller…

The hotel was quiet, and inexpensive. I was not happy about being placed on the third floor in the more distant part of the hotel, that did not have elevator access. As best I could tell the place was not full. I went ahead and cancelled a future reservation.

The hotel was adequate for my short stay in London with good transport links. However, I'm rating the property poor as there are electrical safety issues and sadly I sustained a burn to my hand from the plug of an electrical item provided by the hotel, that had not been electrical safety tested since 2019 and had clearly been tampered with since that time. When I reported the problem and my injury to the staff member on reception they did not appear concerned. I have since emailed the hotel management and had no response. Only stay at this hotel if you're happy to risk injury or dying in an electrical fire.

Was a great hotel and just down the road from the station. Location was pretty safe looking as well and no riff raff at all. Staff were great and even let me check in early as I arrived in the morning. Room was nice and clean and housekeeping cleaned while I was out. I would happily stay here again.

Nice and cosy place to dry. Thought everything was great including the bed and shower. Only downside I can think of is the draft coming from the window. Overall, 10/10 for a crash place.

Good location. Near the tube. Basic accommodation, but clean, and has all the necessary essentials. We had a couple of issues, but they were dealt with immediately and successfully. Helpful, friendly staff. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for! For the price, we were overall happy with our stay.

I have stayed in this property before and it is in a great location at a reasonable price and overall was ver good. My visit this time was very disappointing because I really needed to use the internet and I was not informed upon arrival that it was not available. I tried to find alternative options close by but staff were very unhelpful & did not seem to care that internet was part of the package I had bought from them. I would have to think carefully if I would stay again because of this negative experience

Do not book this hotel! I booked this for me and another person, we got twin beds in a room right beside reception. We heard noise everytime someone was checking in and checking out because they had to walk pass our room. The heater does not work at all. We were freezing at night! The window was closed but there was a draft going through it. The staff gave me extra sheets but he had entered someone else’s room while they were sleeping because he was going to get extra bedding from there. They do not clean. the beds were dusty and there were nuts and crumbs. They don’t change bed sheets, they just make your bed messily. We only stayed there for 2 nights so we didn’t have prolonged suffering. Also, there was NO wifi. Staff kept saying that someone was coming in to fix the wifi. First it was “later today” then it became “tomorrow morning” then the next day it became “later” AGAIN. but no one ever came. By the time we checked out, there was STILL no wifi. They must’ve been lying for their boss or didn’t pay their internet bill. All the basic things you expect in a hotel was not in this one. I made a huge mistake booking this hotel, must’ve read the wrong reviews lol. The only good thing was the location. I feel bad for the staff esp the woman at the front. She was very sweet and gave us free water bottles but other than that I’d rate this place a 1/5. If I could rate it even lower I would. I feel bad for us for even staying there & I feel bad for anyone booking

Duvets are stored in our linen storage room and not in guest rooms. Your feedback on cleanliness is deeply concerning to us, as it does not reflect the high standards of service we aim to provide. If cleanliness is unsatisfactory, we wish you had informed us during your stay so that we could rectify the issue promptly.Regarding bed sheets, they are not changed daily. For guests staying only 2 nights, the housekeeper tidies the bed without changing the sheets. However, upon request, the housekeeper will gladly change the sheets.As for the Wi-Fi situation, we understand the importance of reliable internet access and apologize for the unsatisfactory information provided by our staff. Remarkable value for money. Until I took a shower this hotel would have been faultless. Unfortunately the temperature control on the shower were dangerous in that their response was erratic clunky and delayed. The hottest temperature was scalding, well above safety levels. I didn't manage to adjust the shower unit to have a warm shower. d

Early check in was permitted, with very friendly reception staff. Clean, simple hotel. Was surprised to find a separate bathroom across the hall but I guess this is London where they squeeze every possible inch of room space. Overall, perfectly fine, would come back again.

Issues experienced during our stay
At first they said they hadn't received the payment but I showed them the receipt. They said they hadn't received anything but let us in our room. It was not mentioned again during our stay. We were told to walk around the building and to walk up the stairs to find our room instead of using the lift which was a lot quicker and easier considering we had 2 luggage each. No secure area to leave bags prior to check in, we had to just leave under some set of stairs. Anyone could have taken our items. Our card key did not work and they had to provide the actual key to the room. Hard to turn the knob for the radiator and once the radiator is on, the bed is right next to it so easy to burn yourself over night. We had to block it with a pillow to ensure we didn't burn ourselves.

Terrible customer service
Very basic hotel. We asked for a parking space which was full of rubbish bags and a chain across. Receptionist not bothered, told me to move it myself. Once in space couldn’t get out of drivers door, and paid £20 for privilege. Having given heads up I’m disabled it was not good customer service. Once inside, lift was out of order, sent to 1st floor to our room which was boiling hot, bed stuffed against radiator. Window opened fully with no safety barrier to prevent someone rolling out of bed out the window down to basement area. Fire alarm signal was hanging off the ceiling (was it even active?) We popped out for an hour but our car space was taken by someone else. Different receptionist who didn’t know we’d booked the slot. Had to telephone other guest who was 3 hours until back to hotel. We were asked to park elsewhere for now. Receptionist rang my mobile bluntly asking me to move my car now, soon followed by knock on door asking same. Noisy guests upstairs too, stomping around in the night. Terrible customer service.

Had a pleasant stay here over night to visit Winter Wonderland, which was within walking distance. 2 minute walk from Paddington. We were on the top floor, lift wasn’t working, but it wasn’t a problem, it added a lil fun to our stay by racing up the stairs. Staff were helpful and rooms were clean with tea & coffee facilities.would stay again

after paying expedia, ii arrived at the hotel for them to say they had never been paid and wouldn't let me into my room. then had to mess about calling expedia to get it resolved, not as smooth as the process should have been. also the pictures are 10x better than the rooms. could genuinely touch both balls with out moving. felt like i was in a cupboard

Under the bed was not clean.there was tiny cockroach. Lift is broken. Not great if you need to carry luggage up on stairs. No breakfast. Very substandard for the price charged.

The hotel was a fre minutes walk from paddington station which was very convenient for us. What we didn't like or what we found so so was the lack of interaction with the hotel reception staff. The room was effectively very small but for 2 nights it was ok for us.

Bad review
There was hair in the bathroom and all over the floor and bathroom walls when I entered the room, which I noticed as I’m an experienced housekeeper. The air conditioner was working on and off, so we had to search how to fix it. The room temperature was too hot so we had to keep the air conditioner on at all times. We asked them for cutlery but they said they had no cutlery in the hotel at all. They placed us downstairs in their basement where was no signal to make calls or even receive calls at sometimes.

Check in was quick and let us check in early. Room was clean but the bathroom had a funny smell and shower overflowed due to hair in plug. Very good location only few minute walk to underground and other transport, shops and food would stay again

The Royal Cambridge is situated in Sussex Gardens Paddington London. It's just around the corner from Paddington station which makes it very accessible to the whole of London Breakfast is not available in the hotel but, there are several good cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

Sadly, dissappointing.
I had specifically requested a room near the lift as both of us have mobility issues.. the hotel confirmed this would be no problem. But on arrival the lift wasn't even working and our room was on the 2nd floor! The stairs were very narrow and all this caused us much unwanted stress, discomfort and pain. We didn't feel this was very good customer service as they should have let us know! The stairs carpet was very dirty as were the banisters. The reception area isnt very welcoming and the whole place could do with some tlc. The curtains in our window were very stained as was the bed runner. The shower tray in our bathroom filled up with water to almost overflowing which was worrying, so clearly theres a blockage somewhere, and the shower head sprayed water in every direction! The wire shelf in shower was very rusty and dirty looking and it really should be removed. The bed was comfy and the linen spotless. Our room looked out over the front of the property and was a lovely view, with early morning sunshine. There was also a good supply of tea, coffee, milk capsules and loo rolls! Hotel was in a good location for Paddington and Hyde Park situated in a pleasantctree lined avenue with lots of great cafes and bars nearby. We were plesantly surprised how quiet it was after 11.30pm. We liked the 11am checkout. Shame there were no breakfast options available.

Basic travel hotel. Unfortunately the lifts are not working, so taking luggage up four flights was a bit much. Great location.
