« Vanderkamp was the ideal setting for small family 50th Anniversay celebration. Although the weather wasn’t perfect, we were able to be outside for 2 of our 4 days – hiking, paddleboarding, canoeing, fishing, and playing yard games. « This was an amazing overnight stay! So much better than we were expecting to enjoy it. The lions, all 4, were in front of our window for almost the entire stay, both in the afternoon/night and again in the morning before leaving. To have them lounging, playing, sleeping, grooming right in front of the window with literally your hand separating them from you by plexiglass is unforgettable. "Avoid at all costs – Biohazard disguised as a hotel I wish I could give this 0 stars. We booked a non-smoking room, but it reeked of stale cigarettes the second we opened the door. When I turned on the bathroom light, cockroaches scattered across the floor. To make matters worse, the main light didn’t work, the comforter had disgusting brown/maroon stains, and the toilet paper holder was ripped off the wall. When we complained, the front desk was argumentative and insisted the room was non-smoking. They offered a second room three doors down, but it smelled just as bad. We felt so unsafe and disgusted that we left and found a different hotel that same night. I’m shocked Days Inn allows this property to use their name."
