Top Kyushu and Okinawa Hotel Reviews

Halekulani Okinawa
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed at Halekulani Okinawa for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The property is absolutely beautiful, impeccably maintained, and truly lives up to its five-star reputation. One thing to note is that the spa was fully booked during our stay. Access to the natural hot springs is through the spa, so if you plan to use those facilities, I strongly recommend making reservations well in advance. The resort offers four on-site restaurants, which provided excellent dining variety throughout our stay. The only drawback was that while most restaurants were able to accommodate a gluten sensitivity, the Japanese restaurant was unable to do so. We visited in early June, and unfortunately the weather was not very cooperative. Based on our experience, I would suggest visiting later in June for a better chance of enjoying the outdoor amenities. Overall, the property was outstanding, the service was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A true five-star resort that we would happily recommend."

RIHGA Royal Resort Okinawa Chatan
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful new property that just opened in April 2026. Lots of helpful staff around at all times. The room was very large and we had the view of the American Village and beach with was amazing at night. There was a balcony with chairs that you could sit and admire the night lights. Room was perfect for a family as there were walls that you could roll shut for extra privacy and quiet. Parking was free and it was an electronic parking building which kept the car safe. Location was perfect as it was right across the street from the American Village. There was many restaurants within walking distance and a 7/11 nearby. You do have pay a fee to use the pool. I didn't use it as we went to the beach. Note: a car is almost an absolute necessity as you'd miss a lot of what the island has to offer without one. I would absolutely look forward to staying here again."

THE BASICS FUKUOKA
8/10 Good
"This hotel is a clash of modern classy and old school. Room is spacious, clean and bright. The only downside is the bathtub which is a norm for Japan hotels but I wish they had the option of a standing shower too. It’s located very near to Hakata station about 7mins walk and even though it’s opp a school, it’s relatively quiet."

Okinawa Harborview Hotel

Hotel Hokke Club Fukuoka
8/10 Good
"Great location close to Hakata Station and canal city, and the onsen is nice to use at the end of the day."

Tokyu Stay Hakata
6/10 Okay
"We’ve stayed at many various hotels in Japan and have never come across a hotel where the staff have been as unhelpful and dismissive as the ones at Tokyu Stay Hakata. From the front desk staff to some of the restaurant staff. Linh at the front desk was particularly unhelpful. A female staff member who made our drinks at the restaurant was lovely and very friendly. Hotel itself was basic, somewhat clean (the elevators were dirty, bathrooms need more thorough cleaning), comfortable beds, location was a 10-15 minute walk from Hakata station. The in room washer and dryer were great. They’ll only do a full clean of your room once every 7 days, you can pay extra for room cleaning/bed changing if needed."

AMANEK Beppu YULA-RE
