It was a very unique experience, although the walls were thin and we could hear a lot from other individuals, it was not that bad. Loved the hosts they were very nice, especially the old lady at the front she was wonderful! Would recommend to stay in the area if you are looking for something more traditional!
Clean and utilitarian. Very kind host. However, the walls are incredibly thin, light pouring in each window all night, and an incredibly loud dog barking throughout the night inside the house.
Positiv
Very good hotel located just between Gion and Kiyomizu. Traditional japanese house with tatami’s room will get you completely immersed in japanese culture. The hosts are very kind and I was lucky to be invited to eat dinner with them. I had an unforgettable experience and I recomment this hotel to have a great time in Kyoto.
A good experience staying at the traditional Japanese house. Suitable for short term or backpacker staying. Friendly and helpful staff. He is hard working and always make sure the place is clean for the guests. Guesthouse closes at 10am-4pm, very inconvenience for the guests and could not come to store or collect our luggage at hotel between this timing.
that was an old and traditional japanese house which make you get close to the culture and scene, facilities was completed with daily basis. Staff was helpful , and Miss.Juan from Taiwan know how to speak in mandarin and have a very good command in Japanese, and they do speak english :). the room have paper thin wall, so any small chat or anyone who walk across the corridor will be listened by others, but you don't always stay in the room so i think it won't be a big issues.
