Located in the very quiet, peaceful Sound Sea Village, a classic Oceanside community in Duck, characterized by single-family residential cottages, treed settings, gravel roads, quiet family-friendly neighborhood, with a mix of year-round, 2nd homes, vacation rentals, natural surroundings, and a beautiful wide Atlantic Ocean beach. Only 2.2 miles to the Iconic Town of Duck, via road or detached bike/walking path, for the town's shopping, dining, soundfront boardwalk, and activities, or 9 miles North to all that Corolla has to offer. The community beach access is directly down the street from this home, past 11 homes, and an approximate 6 min walk, and for the evenings, there is a community picnic table area to watch sunsets 4 homes to the West at North Duck Watersports, which can provide rentals of jet ski's, boat rentals, and parasailing. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. They also have a gas grill outdoor that was in good shape with plenty of gas, We were walking distance (about 7-9 houses down the road) from the beach and beach access was easy peasey. Highly recommend the seafood pots from the Boil Company! We loved the boardwalk and shops in Duck and the beaches were in good shape but it was red flag while we were there. The owners thought of everything, and had plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, and carts. The large deck with a gate was perfect for our dog, too. Jul 20, 2025 #### Awesome, Beautiful, Cockroaches Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our vacation started out awesome. The home and beach were beautiful. However, the cockroaches that refused to leave stole that from my family and I. The cockroaches crawled in my daughter while she was enjoying the nice sectional sofa. Nobody was willing to sit on the sectional after that.
