PERFECT GUESTHOUSE
Excellente guesthouse, chambre très confortable avec vue sur le lac, Salle de bain et wc privatif, la douche est un peu petite. Vous avez accès à Netflix dans la chambre. Je recommande cette adresse.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli. La chambre était très agréable et la vue magnifique. Nous y avons passé une nuit très reposante. Au réveil, la grande baie vitrée nous a offert un beau paysage enneigé. Notre hôte nous a préparé un mijoté d'agneau aux épices agrémenté de légumes et de riz. C'était délicieux. Nos enfants de 11 et 12 ans ont aussi très apprécié. Des hôtes très gentils que nous recommandons. Nous avons même eu droit à de belles chansons françaises lors de notre dîner.

Very beautiful place
We choose this hotel because it is between ík and Skaftafell. We were not disappointed at all ! The staff is really nice, you can dîner there if you ask for, and it was delicious ! The room are well decorated and a large window can let you search northern lights during the night.

Hotel situé région Kirkjubaejarklaustur. Nous sommes arrivé en soirée et avons eux de la difficulté à trouver l'endroit car indication Guest House à l'entrée et avons passé tout droit. Ancient Guest house converti en Hotel Cabine . Cabine récente et moderne avec vue sur un lac. Cafetière Nespresso dans la chambre . Déjeuner inclus et servie dans le pavillon principal. Séjour d'une nuit agréable, malgré la pluie . Excellent choix et nous recherche recommandons cet hôtel .

I loved everything about this hotel (staff, breakfast, room, view) and really wanted to give 5 stars like most other people. Unfortunately I did not like the hot water tank in the room. The shower itself was lovely, but the water tank seemed to only have enough hot water in for 1 person to shower, before needing hours to reheat. Very disappointing for two people staying who really enjoy their showers after a long day hiking.

10/10 for this property!! We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were polite and welcoming. Our room was exactly as described, was spacious, clean and comfortable. There is a restaurant on site where we had dinner which was cooked to perfection. Breakfast was delicious with a wide range of options to choose from. Free parking is available on site.

This is the best hotel I’ve experienced on my Iceland Ring-road trip. The restaurant was great for breakfast and my wife and I totally enjoyed the dinner at the restaurant. Check-in was straightforward and we had the lake view room - great for sunrise. And after sunset (more light at midnight) .. we had our very first sighting of the Northern Lights. I must stress that Northern Lights sightings are purely based on luck and chance, but the location of the hotel does help due to less light pollution. If you are on the Ring Road trip give this hotel look-see, I hope you will also have as much an enjoyable time as me and my wife did.

Tolles Hotel (Zimmer sind Bungalows in Reihe) in außergewöhnlicher Lage, sehr hochwertig mit Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet (Beleuchtung, Soundsystem, Badezimmer etc.). Restaurant mit sehr guter Kücke zum für Island fairen Preis, Frühstück sehr gut. Absolute Empfehlung nicht nur für eine Nacht wegen Nähe zu Gletschern etc.

Das Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Zimmer waren in kleinen Hütten, wie auf den Bildern abgebildet. Unser Zimmer war sauber und sehr schön. Das Abendessen war sehr gut. Das Frühstück war gut. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Really nice place! Only problem is the front desk won’t be available 24h. So if you need anything, you are not going to find them. The other thing is their door lock, which is very challenging. The last they should prepare some cup and box for customers who don’t have time for breakfast to have a packed one.

We loved our stay at Magma. It's a beautiful property with lovely rooms and restaurant. Breakfast was fairly standard but the beautiful dining room made it even better. The location is great for a south coast road trip. Would definitely stay here again!

Cozy and stylish cabin hotel
This was my second stay at this hotel - and the rooms are so well designed and stylish! Since my last stay (in 2021) however, there has been an expansion and more new cabins have been added up above the original 10-15 down by the lower pond. I understand there are plans for further expansion too - a traditional hotel building. While it is still above average for hotels in this area, I'd suggest more attention or care to landscaping around the outside/front of the upper cabins for more "curb appeal." My partner also noted some degradations on the breakfast buffet - what happened to the smoke salmon? Overall, love the design and comfort of the rooms - SO cozy. Check in.

A good home-base for day trips to the south coast
We had a nice stay here at Magma Hotel. We spent two nights in Dec '23 and used this as a home-base for short trips to the south coast of Iceland to see Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach, and to do some ice-cave sight seeing. The Hotel was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, but there was some wear-and-tear on the finishes that needs to be fixed. This is a "builders grade" hotel. Nothing too fancy and not put together with precision. Restaurant was good for dinner. The breakfast buffet was OK. I would definitely stay here again for the same purpose. It was a good value.

Beautiful property next to a pond and hills of lovely scenery. The onsite evening dining was superb and we appreciated the breakfast spread. It was nice to be separate from other apartments to cut down on noise. Our only issue was that the thermostat was locked to a temp that was too warm for sleeping, but we cracked the sliding glass door and didn't have an issue. Very comfortable beds and nice shower. We'd definitely stay again without hesitation.

Magma Hotel is comprised of a group of individual bungalows in a beautiful setting. The accommodations are beautifully decorated and spotless. The surroundings and the lake evoke relaxation, peacefulness and privacy. I am hoping to return there some day.
