A 1945 original Outer Banks cottage built on the Sea Ranch property. This beautiful cottage was moved to it's current location in the 1960's. It was completely renovated in the Spring of 2021 providing a cozy, comfortable place to relax and get away from it all. Centrally located between the Bypass and the Beach Road in Kill Devil Hills. You are two blocks from the Clark Street beach access, 357 steps to having your toes in the sand, watching and listening to the ocean waves roll in. You have the entire cottage and yard to yourself. Enjoy the covered deck, reading room, 2 TV's, fully stocked kitchen, and reclining couches. All linens provided. You will enjoy spending time on the covered deck on the front of the cottage. There is always a nice breeze. We have fully furnished the cottage and have tried to think of most everything you would need to be comfortable. \-Living room with 55" Smart TV , DVD player, and comfy reclining couches. \-The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed and sitting area for two. \-There is a cozy sitting room we call the reading room downstairs where we hope you can enjoy time reading some of books provided including some about Outer Banks history or just sit, relax and enjoy the quiet. \-The upstairs bedrooms-one has a queen size bed, the other has a full size bed and sitting area for one. \-The upstairs bonus room has a couch, Smart TV, DVD player, game console, board games and work area. \-The kitchen is equipped with a stove and oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, toaster, Zero water pitcher, and Keurig. \-We do offer a grill. Guest access Arrival and Parking: There is a driveway to the right of the cottage for parking. There is plenty of space for 3 cars. You will enter the cottage through the front deck. You will receive a code to access the smart lock to enter the cottage. Other things to note Beach access: The cottage is a quick 2 minute walk to the end of the street, cross the beach road and you are at the Clark Street beach access. You have access to public parking and a bathhouse! Beautiful place to watch the sunrise!! Gas/convenience: The cottage is less than a ½ mile from the closest convenience store and gas station. Shopping/Groceries: A short 5 minute ride south on the bypass will take you to Harris Teeter, and the Dollar Tree. A short 5 minute ride north will take you to Publix, Lowes, Food Lion, Belk and many other smaller stores including a nail salon and Chinese take out. Booking during Hurricane Season (June 1st-Nov. 30th): Booking a stay on our little sandbar during Hurricane season is always a little risky. These storms are unpredictable and can occur most often days or maybe a week before your stay. As listed, we have a strict cancellation policy which allows for a full refund within the first 48 hours as long as the check-in date is at least 14 days away, a 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in, and no refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in. If there were a mandatory evacuation while you were staying we would then give a full refund for the days that were affected by this action made by Dare County. If you choose to leave but no mandatory evacuation was issued you will not receive a refund. Some guests choose to purchase their own travel insurance policy through an independent company if they are nervous about this. Booked a last-minute beach stay at "Slow Pace" for my wife's birthday. The owners Sandy and Russ were super communicative during the check-in process and actually surprised us with Happy Birthday balloons and a card! This is above and beyond normal hospitality. I'm truly thankful for this gesture. The cottage itself is in A++ condition. Spotlessly clean with super cool layout and what looked like brand new renovations. The front porch was a perfect hangout area (with cover if needed). The short walk to the beach was a breeze and the beach wasn't overly crowded due to the mostly residential area that it's in. There's a great sandwich shop, Ten o Six, within a 30 sec walk that serves a variety of awesome sandwiches and breakfast all day. There's also an ice cream shop/creamery in the little complex.
