Located at the desirable Menehune Shores in north Kihei at Kalepolepo Beach. There's a split air conditioner in the common area (living/dining room) only (with a 4-hour timer). PLEASE NOTE: there is NO air conditioning in the bedrooms, but there are ceiling fans and portable floor and table fans. The oceanside bedroom gets the ocean breeze and sound of the waves. This condo is an excellent choice for families, two couples, or a small group of friends. There is a queen bed in each bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room with an extra thick mattress. Maximum occupancy is five persons. Two full bathrooms are an added convenience. The unit has been completely remodeled and the owners keep it up-to-date. It has free, reliable WiFi, a washer and dryer, and two televisions with digital cable (one smart TV for logging into your streaming accounts). The remodeled kitchen (2024) is fully equipped for easy meal preparation and all linens are provided, including beach towels. There's a closet full of beach chairs and a shade umbrella, sand toys, coolers, boogie boards, reef shoes, and more for your outdoor fun. Starter amounts of toilet paper and paper towels are provided. Once these supplies run out, it is the guests' responsibility to replenish needed items. Guests provide their own toiletries (shampoo/conditioner/body wash/etc.). MENEHUNE SHORES is a peaceful, immaculately tended, oceanfront complex located on the beach in north Kihei, a twenty minute drive from the Kahului airport. Shopping, restaurants, and excursion opportunities are just minutes away. Our third-floor lanai overlooks the pool and ocean, with views to West Maui and the island of Lanai. Bring your binoculars because humpback whales can often be seen from the condo lanai December through April, and the National Humpback Whale Marine Sanctuary headquarters and lookout is right next door. Our unit does not look out at other condos like many other complexes, just the beautiful greens and blues of nature. The solar-heated oceanfront pool, barbecue grills, and shuffleboard are located next to a small beach park which offers a calm swimming beach perfect for children. More grills and tables are located on the roof deck which provides fabulous 360-degree views of Maui, including Molokini Crater, Lanai and Kaho’olawe islands, and Haleakala Volcano. Protected swimming at the King’s Pond right in front of Menehune Shores is a plus for visitors who want shallow ocean swimming without strong currents or large surf. Turtles can often be seen resting near the pond, too. Pickle Ball players take note: there are five free, oceanfront, public pickle ball courts within easy walking distance at Waipuilani Park. A completed rental contract and copy of a government-issued photo ID of the credit-card holder are required to make a reservation. Minimum age of renter is 25\. It has a beautiful ocean view. Our kids loved seeing the turtles and playing shuffleboard on the lawn. The condo itself has a well appointed kitchen and all the beach stuff you could want! The location makes getting around easy and everything was very clean (there was only a little toilet paper in one bathroom when we got there, so we had to go to the store soon after arriving, so grab some on the way). The beach right in front of condo is a much smaller area than I was expecting, but we found some great beaches nearby. The view from the condo is exactly as pictured and made for peaceful morning coffee time. Vicki was a great host, easy to communicate with and kind when we needed an extra day due to delayed flight. Séjour de 10 nuits en octobre 2024 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Marnie M. 5 nov. 2024 Points forts : Propreté #### Perfect place, exactly what we needed We are two adult couple best friends visiting Maui to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary and a completion of hair styling school and opening a home salon. One couple had never been to Maui, the other had been 26 years ago! The layout of the condo was absolutely perfect for two couples with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. While we didn’t cook any dinners, the kitchen was perfect for breakfasts and making lunches to pack for our day trips and beach days. It was so nice to sit on the lanai and see the ocean, the park, or watch shuffleboard games. TVs in the main living area and beach side bedroom. Air conditioning was fabulous to have and when fans were positioned outside bedroom doors, the cool air drew into the bedrooms. The amenities in the closet to use was perfect with lots of choices and made the visit so much better: beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, snorkling gear, reef shoes, beach towels, etc. We rented a mini van, as our friend broke his ankle before our trip so we needed extra space for a knee scooter etc and it was awesome to fit all the gear to bring along for all 4 of us! The info guides and guest book gave fantastic tips and advice and really helped shape our trip. And having access to washer/dryer helped us to keep our packing light. Location is very convenient to access everywhere!! Communication with Vicki and Dave was simple and reliable. Vicki was able to give us a late check out on our last day and we are so grateful! Super easy check in process, the condo was very clean with all of the amenities, including everything you need for the beach. The beach is great especially since it is a turtle resting area! There are pickleball courts close by with a great group to play with, fabulous shopping in Wailea and great coffee at Akamai! We had a wonderful time staying at Menehune Shores! We stayed for 3 weeks in July 2023 and loved every minute. It is centrally located so easy to reach all of the major destinations on Maui. The unit was clean, easy to maintain, and came with everything we could have needed from beach chairs & towels to extra linens, pillows, dishes and even the basic spices in the cabinet for cooking. The view from is wonderful, perfect sunsets every night. The hosts were wonderful to work with. While located on the mainland, there is an onsite property manager to work with if any minor issues arise. We had one small issue pop up and it was taken care of immediately, much to our great satisfaction! You can tell they really care about their guests experience and are invested in you having a good time while on the island. Mornings are the best times to enjoy the beach and pond out front. The Honu (Green Sea Turtles) sleep on the rocks and beach there every night and are still resting in the morning. It was wonderful to walk down and say good morning to them while enjoying your coffee and a stroll. By afternoon the winds pick up (normal for the whole island, it's the trade winds that made Hawaii discoverable afterall) and the water can get a little choppy, but that just makes it a better time to enjoy the pool or go site seeing. The grounds of the building are immaculate. Please make sure to use the grills down by the water. I can't think of a more beautiful place to BBQ than there at sunset ##### Thor H.
