« very nice room, recently rtenovated and you could tell. restaurant had a good mix of food on and bar staff very welcoming. had a dog with us and no issues. he was well looked after. its on a tourist route but actually the staff looked like they really enjoyed their jobs. warm fire in the evenning and the brewery was nice too. »

« Stayed in the Hadrian Suite which is a beautifully designed space, very impressive. Very warm welcome and friendly service throughout. Comfortable bar area downstairs with great dining options. Definitely recommend if you're visiting this stunning part of England – they will help with guidance for walks and dark skies star spotting etc. »

« Everything exceeded our expectations, well, except for the pillows which were so soft they were almost non-existent! The hotel was grand but somehow cosy, spotlessly clean and well-maintained and the facilities were great. The pool was bigger than it looked in the photos although the slide was more of a shuffle! Games room had a table tennis table, a pool table and an arcade machine. There was a dart board and darts but the flights were too damaged to play with. The grounds were lovely to walk...

« Set in gorgeous surroundings, the field barn has everything you need for a rural retreat. It was always warm (something which we considered before booking it for our December stay) and we felt at home right away. Beds were clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment and the oven worked well. Lots of opportunities to go on walks directly from the property too. We like to stay in beautiful places and this ticked that box!
