"Beautiful place right on the water with beautiful views, easy access to local shopping and gift shops, restaurants and things to do. The only issue we had was for the "Sunday Evening Buffet"... First when we signed up the night before we were told our reservations were set - but when we showed up we were not on the list. We had to wait for over an hour (the hostess's were kind and truly seemed to care that we were not on the list and did what they could to get us in - Thank you for that). The food was ok - nothing great to talk about - the service needed help (poor lady was running as fast as she could but never seemed to catch up so we did without drinks for most of the meal). Would we come back? Yes... Just not for the Buffet!"

"Jim is a kind and great person and his communication was perfect. Jim's place is awesome and had everything we needed for our stay week stay. The place in in the middle of everything and you can walk to downtown restaurants/shopping with a great views. The lanai has a great view of the ocean and we loved hearing the ocean waves at night, I feel asleep on the lounge chairs on the lanai a few times during our stay. Uncle Jim provided a bunch of different places for us to check out during our stay. I will stay at Jim's place every time I go to Kona going forward. Jim, thank you again for everything and the great memories, we will be back soon!!!"

"Nice hotel EXCEPT my resort view room looked over a large rooftop of gravel. Not the view in the website pictures. Busy location with shops and places to eat. Good on-site breakfast buffet with lots of choices. Asked for late checkout but didn't get it. Had to ask for temporary passes to use resort while waiting for evening flight and was given a wrist band for pool but not able to use a bathroom with it??? That was very inconvenient. Something about a system upgrade which was supposed to be seamless. Too bad it wasn't. Front desk staff just okay."

"Condo could have been cleaner - bathrooms and floors needed some TLC upon arrival. The shower curtain liner had a lot of mildew on it, but we washed it and it took care of the smell issue. A/C worked great, but does not reach the bedrooms. A few nights were really hot. The refrigerator had a leak issue, which caused a lot of water to drip inside. The kitchen lighting continuously flickered; the switch may need to be looked at. For the price we paid, we had higher expectations. Aside from that, the location was amazing. It has a beautiful view! The condo was equipped with mostly everything we needed. The washer and dryer was very convenient. The amenities / pool access were fantastic."

"Second stay at Kona Reef.Always clean, convenient and accessible property. Perfect location for all the good shops and dining amenities. Don't need a car rental other than for sightseeing. Pool is clean and perfect for when the ocean is a little rough "hurricane season". Quiet beach right next to us, watched sea turtles, some fish, and local surfers. I really enjoy the amenities of our condo, w/d helps with less luggage more room for souvenirs. Mahalo"
Summer Deal Oceanfront 3BR Kona Condo with Lanai and Sunset Views

"This unit has a fantastic ocean front location and is VERY large. The 3 bedrooms and 3 baths are separated nicely and made for super separation of space. Decor is a bit dated but the unit had everything we could need and the setting was special. We love being so close and walkable to Alii Drive. There is an elevator (we didn't know this when checking in) and a parking garage (also didn't know that) but both of those made getting luggage and groceries upstairs easy. Highly recommend for a larger family."

"Location was great and very convenient. The view from the lanai was wonderful! Biggest issue was getting cold air into the bedroom as all the cold air would stay in the living room was. Thankfully there were a few fans so that helped us sleep. We would stay here again!"
