« The Swan at Hay Hotel est une bonne adresse pour qui veut séjourner à Hay-on-Wye et découvrir les librairies de livres anciens ou la réserve d'oiseaux de Holy Island. Bonne cuisine dans un cadre chaleureux et agréable, avec un service détendu et efficace. Un bémol : certaines chambres donnent directement sur une cour intérieure, et il ne faut pas se trouver en face du néon de sécurité qui nous a éclairés toutes les nuits... « The house had every thing we needed for our stay. Plenty of space for a family of 5 to get ready for a wedding. Make up being done in the kitchen at the dinning table whilst the children entertained themselves in the lounge. The house had all amenities we needed and it was spotlessly clean. »

"Hôtel dans un ancien manoir avec bcp de charme. Tout à été récemment rénové avec bcp de goût. Chambres standard de taille correcte. Belle salle d’eau. Certaines chambres donnent sur le système d’air conditionné et sont très bruyantes! Demander à changer si c’est le cas. Petit déjeuner sur commande et de bonne qualité. Dîner très correct et plats copieux. Bon rapport qualité prix. Le spa est THE SPA. Grande piscine, vraie salle de sport bien équipée et sauna, hammam. Accès d’1h inclus dans chaque chambre. L’hôtel mérite ses 4 étoiles amplement. "

"Nous sommes un peu déçus… l’hôtel est en fait attenant au manoir et non dans le manoir. Nos chambres n’étaient pas très propres (draps salis, rideaux déchirés, trace de nourriture présente sur la moquette) mais spacieux (les enfants avaient leur propre chambre attenante). La piscine est un peu vieillotte. Le personnel est discret, poli mais un peu trop détaché des besoins des clients."

"Bien placé pour découvrir les sites avec un grand parking. Par contre la literie avec des matelas à ressorts et des lits pour deux assez étroits, par rapport à ce qui se fait pour ce prix, ce n'est pas acceptable. On a signalé qu'on avait mal dormi quand on nous a demandé si tout allait bien, sans plus de considération. Pour dîner, prévoir 2h de service. L'espace piscine est vieillissant."
