"We stayed in cabin 10. It was very clean and we had a great time kayaking and eating at the Sunset Grill. We will be back!"

"Check in very nice. Guy who was cleaning was not friendly. Breakfast staff and housekeeper very friendly. I don’t mind Hampton using pump soap and shampoo bottles but ours has a half inch of soap in it which was inconvenient for taking a shower. I am favorable to cost-saving measures until the customer is unnecessarily inconvenienced. The person at the desk gave me two tiny bottles for my wife and children to use for their showers. For goodness sake, it’s soap. The hotel seemed well kept. Fitness area had one out of order elliptical, an unplugged treadmill, and the one I used suddenly shut off on me. The area around the hotel was poorly maintained with clover and faded signs. Not up to what I consider Hilton standards."

"The cabin was beautiful and super convenient. It was chilly that weekend and the woodburner heat was comfortable. It was the kind of place to enjoy a few days without distraction. I look forward to staying again."

Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Franklin-Oil City by IHG

"Staff was great, room was clean, AC unit works perfect. I only have small complaints. After this trip I realized I dont want a room that is across the hall from the indoor pool or close to the elevators/main lobby. It is very noisy and the door has a decent sized gap under it allowing for voices and noise to be heard easily. The gap around the black out curtains does not keep outage lights in the parking lot at night so your room won't be completely dark. The toilet is very low to the ground for tall people (just my two cents). My one recommendation is to have a plain egg omelet available for breakfast. Our choices were omelet with veggies or cheese. My daughter doesn't eat those veggies and she is lactose intolerant."

"The staff was very friendly and helpful. We chose this property because it was the only traditional hotel within walking distance of an event we were attending (Franklin Blues and BBQ Festival) so the rates were probably higher than normal. Our biggest complaint was the free hot breakfast. All 3 mornings were the same. Tasteless sausage patties and scrambled eggs. A handful of high carb offerings. Weak coffee and rock hard butter. The problem with Franklin is there are no restaurants "downtown" open for breakfast. It was a bit of a drive for a chain restaurant. The town looks a bit down on it's luck. There is a good Mexican restaurant inside the hotel called Tacos Inc that was a pleasant surprise. The staff at the hotel were outstanding and the room was clean and had a good amenities. The parking was free and there was plenty. All and all a good place except for the breakfast thing which wouldn't have mattered much if the town itself had something to offer."

"The Highland guesthouse is a historical building with lots of history. It is located very close to Allegheny College. The breakfast consists of pastries and cereal, with options to make your own eggs, bacon, sausage and other cooked items. We would prefer to have coffee ready and a cooked breakfast ready, even if it would be a simple breakfast casserole that would need reheated. The bathrooms are shared, unless you stay in the 2 rooms that have private ones. The staff is not around much during the day so you have a lot of privacy. We would stay here again, especially during the Thurston Hot Air Balloon Classics which leave at 6 am and Highland Guesthouse is only 1/2 mile away."
