Seaside Hotel Maiko Villa Kobe

Seaside Hotel Maiko Villa Kobe

10/10 Excellent
"Amazing view from the room of the Akashi Kaikyou bridge and fantastic breakfast buffet with both western and Japanese food. Luxury communal bath was also fantastic and appreciate it being open late with spa quality soap, shampoo, conditioner and a few lotions and cleansers. Peaceful location in mostly residential area but close enough by train to Tarumi, Akashi, Kobe and Himeji which all offer lots of dining and shopping options as well as sightseeing. Room amenities included pajamas, slippers all necessary toiletries, hair dryer, small fridge, electric kettle, cofee, tea, and bottled water. 10 min walk from Maiko station is a little uphill and may be tough in the summer heat with luggage, but short taxi ride is also an option from the station. There is an elevator that will get you up the final hill to the hotel, which may be hard to spot for first time visitors, so be sure to google the entrance elevator to find it."

Grand Mercure Awaji Island Resort & Spa

Grand Mercure Awaji Island Resort & Spa

10/10 Excellent
"This is a moderately priced all inclusive type resort with good views that is very popular with Japanese families with young children. Most people drive. The half board option is good because you get great breakfast and dinner buffets. I was reminded of the buffets in Las Vegas. The food is a big selection of Awaji specialties, Japanese food, and many international dishes, as well as beer and other drinks. This is a very crowded hotel. Line queue registration is used to manage entry to the buffet area. This is not a secluded, quiet resort. The spacious onsen includes a big outdoor bath and a big relaxation area with drinks. The onsen staff manages it very well. The main attraction in this area is the Naruto whirlpools. Public transportation is limited to buses. So you come here for the hotel and the whirlpools."

"Great hotel . Bit on the silent location of the Awaji island ..You better have a car of you want to explore island as ithis located very far from all . This hotel is only for people who wants nice and quiet time , beautiful sunrise and fancy own catering. They will provide coffee /Tea / miso soup from machine at the lobby with cutleries . There are some local restaurants near by traditional Japanese /.Korean / noodles bar etc . Big shopping centre literally under 6 min walk will help to top up your meals ."

Kada Onsen Seaside Hotel Kada Kaigetsu

Kada Onsen Seaside Hotel Kada Kaigetsu

10/10 Excellent
"The food was excellent and the onsen at night overlooking the ocean and the lighthouse was incredible. If you're planning to go to Tomogashima island keep in mind that the ferry doesn't sail on Wednesday and may be cancelled on other days due to high wind. I was unable to make it to the island on my 2 night stay so I suppose I will just have to come back again!"

SENSHIN WAHO

SENSHIN WAHO

10/10 Excellent
"Our stay was one of the highlights of our time in Japan. From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm, refined, and thoughtfully designed — a perfect contrast to the busy pace of travel. The property itself is beautifully maintained, blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern comfort. Our room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly peaceful, with a layout that made it easy to relax as a family. Traveling with a young child, we especially appreciated how accommodating and welcoming the staff were — attentive without ever being intrusive. The onsen experience was exceptional. The baths were serene, well-kept, and never overcrowded, making it easy to fully unwind. The atmosphere — especially in the evening — was quiet and restorative, exactly what you hope for in a stay like this. Dining was another highlight. The meals were carefully prepared and beautifully presented, showcasing seasonal ingredients and a level of detail that really stood out. Even with a child, the staff made the experience comfortable and enjoyable. What truly sets this hotel apart is the sense of balance — privacy, service, and atmosphere all come together effortlessly. It’s not just a place to stay, but a place to slow down and reset. We would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area, whether as a couple or with family."
