From the spacious covered deck to the recently remodeled and updated house to the private riverside decks and dock, you'll feel right at home, yet so far away. Begin your vacation with a complimentary bottle of champagne, chilled waiting for your arrival. Riverscape's covered deck features sweeping views of the river, the redwoods, and the lush backyard. Experience luxury outdoor living complete with a 6 person hot tub; an outdoor kitchen with a bar, sink, large gas BBQ, and prep area; an outdoor living room with couches, a 50' HDTV with Directv and surround sound, dvd player, a pool table/ping pong table, and a washer and dryer. On chilly evenings, you can light up the outdoor heater, and close the canvas curtains to keep snugly while listening to the river slide by. Sliding glass doors run along the entire back of the deck, so you can see what's going on inside, if you are outside, or visa versa. They also bring in a lot of light to the house, and allows for beautiful views, bringing the outside in. Just off the deck, the backstairs lead down to a large grassy, fenced backyard with a horseshoe pit, and plenty of room to play amongst beds of beautiful flowers, roses, and banana trees. We have lots of fruit trees, cherry, plum, 2 apples, pears you are welcome to enjoy when in season. There is also an outdoor shower with hot and cold water to rinse off after the river, or just enjoy taking a shower outside under the stars. Situated under the canopy of an apple tree, is the Boat House which is the perfect place to take a nap on the futon, or change clothes after coming up from the river. The Boat house also has lifejackets, paddles for the kayaks, and other toys to play in the River or the yard with. Just beyond the yard, the path leads to the River View Deck, with comfortable seating to relax, read a book, take a nap, or just hang out and enjoy watching the river go by. Pull up a stool at the Tiki Bar, enjoy your favorite cocktail, and chill. Just beyond that is another BBQ, and the two (seasonal Mid May - Mid October) waterfront decks--one in the sun, one in the shade-- and the (seasonal Mid May - Mid October) private floating dock where you'll enjoy hopping in one of the kayaks and paddling up or down the river, swimming, or just floating around. At certain times of the year, you may see ducks, Blue Heron, river otters, and possible the foxes that like to hang out in our yard. The 2 bedroom, 1 bath house (+ outdoor shower) has an open concept design, a newly remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and all the utensils you'll need to cook the perfect meal. The dining bar comfortably sits 6 people, there is extra seating around the counter bar in the kitchen, and a dining room table as well. The living room boasts leather reclining couches, a 55' Smart TV with Xfinity, DVD player, and surround sound, as well as a wii with games, and plenty of board games. The house has wifi. There are two bedrooms, each with a very comfy queen size bed. The bedrooms have air conditioners. There is a queen size futon in the livingroom area for extra sleeping space. Located just 1 1/2 hours from SF, Guerneville is the perfect getaway. Riverscape is just 1 mile from Main Street which boasts a variety of restaurants, a wine bar, the 5 & 10 store, Safeway, antique shops, Pee Wee Golf, and Johnson's Beach. A 1/2 mile in the other direction is Northwood Golf Course with 9 holes of golf (Golf Magazine named it one of the 5 top Alister McKenzie courses in the world!) nestled in the Redwoods, and a few minutes past that is the town of Monte Rio with another nice family beach, and the Rio Movie Theatre. We are 10 minutes to Armstrong Woods redwood forest, and Korbel Champagne Cellars. The ocean is just 20 minutes away, and we are a close proximity to 100's of Russian River, and Sonoma County wineries. Riverscape has everything you need, and close to many adventures, so you have options to do as much or as little you want to. We live in the apartment below the rental, however; guests get the whole upstairs house with all the amenities, the backyard and river access all to themselves. We respect our guest's privacy, want you to have fun, laugh, play games, and have the best time at Riverscape. Most of the time you would never know we are there unless we happen to meet in front taking out the garbage or pulling into our spot, which is separate from the 4 spots reserved for guests. Guests actually like that we are around in case they need more supplies, or have an issue, we can promptly help out. Us being on property has never been an issue with previous guests. We had a great time at Lauren's place. The home was very clean and comfortable. It had EVERYTHING we needed for our 4 night stay. We had a good time on the covered deck room in spite of the weather. We used the TV to watch movies, play table tennis, pool and used the fire-table and the hot tub! Our kids loved it. I enjoyed my coffee in the mornings on the deck watching the river. Due to the season (Dec), the river was not accessible (level was high and water was fast). The hosts were quickly accessible when we had questions (I used text messages) but we never saw them (even though they live in the lower apartment). Great place! Great hosts! ##### Siva S. My boyfriend and I arrived about 40 minutes after the official check-in time, and within 20 minutes, the owner contacted us to inform us that pets were not allowed. I apologized, double-checked the listing, and even offered to leave. Instead, she suggested I find someone to watch our dogs. It quickly became clear that she had been monitoring our movements, as she referenced specific actions we had taken in the yard. When I expressed discomfort about being watched and asked if she was on the property, she responded in a rude and dismissive manner. We left after under 3 hours. She knew she was in the wrong and refunded one day - She ruined our planned vacation and I was out 1200.Later, she sent photos alleging damage—specifically, dirty carpet—despite the fact that we were there for less than three hours and had not allowed our dogs on the carpet at all.Due to the uncomfortable nature of the interaction and the owner's unprofessional communication, I chose to work directly with VRBO for resolution. The river-front location, with amazing views from the covered deck and the dock, was exactly what we wanted. The house itself offered so many great amenities for us and our kids, including hot tub, ping pong, pool, firepit, outdoor tv for movie nights, and kayaks for daily rides on the river. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking, the beds were comfortable, and the space was very tidy and clean. We will definitely stay again for future visits to Guernville. ##### Christine C. It started with the beautiful sign on the chalkboard welcoming us to their home and And how much a son means to their mother and how much a mother means to their son. It could’ve been more perfect. The home is perfection every detail and amenity are so far above and beyond. The grounds and all of the magical touches make it like Disneyland in Guerneville from the beautiful lighthouse and everything that lit up at night to waking up to the most beautiful picture spot on the river, made us Never want to leave. We were actually a bit teary-eyed packing up because we felt so at home because of Lauren and the beautiful home they have created. This is an annual for our family for the rest of our lives. The only place I will stay in Guerneville ever! it is our forever VRBO as long as Lauren will have us. We will be there every year with our boys and our family. My girlfriend and I are both single mothers and we have never felt more relaxed and at peace in our home away from home! The property was clean, well maintained, and the kitchen was adequately supplied. Being right on the Russian River was wonderful, and the set up of the outdoor areas was perfect. There were so may spots on the property to hang out and relax - on the covered balcony overlooking the back yard and river, on the grass in the back yard, on an elevated platform overlooking the river, or on the dock on the river. Lots of things to do in the yard. Went kayaking one afternoon which was easy from the dock. The dishwasher was worthless since all the jets are clogged up, so we had to hand wash everything.
