"We had a wonderful stay. The hotel contacted us to see if we wanted a private transfer from the airport and it worked out great -it was very reasonable! It saved a lot of time. The hotel held our luggage so we could explore while our room was being readied. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and there was Prosecco in the lobby!😁"
"This is a tricky one. The rooms aren't great. The one we ended up in needed renovations. It had grimy, water damaged baseboards. The shower caulking needed to be cleaned or replaced. The water was never hot, sometimes lukewarm. The hair dryer was weirdly sticky and old.
We reserved a "superior" room with a balcony through Expedia, but when we checked in, we were utterly dismayed. The room was in very poor condition and felt a bit like a room in a frat house. The first thing we noticed was the floor, which was chipped and damaged. The bathroom was grim and depressing. Overall, the room was in poor condition, and the "balcony" was actually an impersonal space shared with other rooms that overlooked nothing. Maybe this would have been acceptable if the room had been described as "basic" or "economy" when we booked, but "superior" suggests something much nicer.
We immediately returned to reception after seeing the room and asked if an upgrade was available. The lovely young man at the front desk was able to upgrade us for an additional €25 per night. Our new room had a beautiful ocean and pool view, and I'm so glad we upgraded, so keep this in mind when booking.
On a positive note, the furniture appeared to be new, and the bed was comfortable.
Other things to keep in mind: there was no corkscrew, the "fridge" was really just a cooler, and there was no ice machine. Pluses: The pool area was lovely. The breakfast was good and the restaurant staff were nice."
"It was good but not a five star experience. We were expecting a kitchenette and a balcony and we didn't get either, the air con in the room was not working, the beds were slightly too hard, I asked the housekeeping staff to come back later and they proceeded to sigh and close the door. Staff was friendly. The gym was okay. The pool"
"Our stay at Spatia Comporta was wonderful, largely thanks to the incredible staff. From before arrival, they shared property amenities and activity suggestions, and once we arrived, they took care of everything from arranging car services, handling in-room needs, and even picking up items at the convenience store in town. The property itself made the stay just as special. It never felt crowded (we may have visited just before high season) and the property is set in a quiet, peaceful evergreen forest. It had such a calm, restorative feel.
We stayed in one of the Cabanas and loved having our own free-standing accommodations. The outdoor sitting area and shower were welcome touches. The pool was heated and very comfortable, and pool staff were kind and attentive. Breakfast was a highlight every morning. We also had dinner on-site, including at Nesto. Everything we ordered at Nesto was excellent. The staff were friendly and genuinely curious to hear our thoughts. Standouts included the Colada Punch and Hazelnut Old Fashioned cocktails (the best drinks of our trip), the lamb samosas and whole fried seabream. The Salmon Uramaki with peanut butter was an absolute favorite.
We had two minor room issues (HVAC and plumbing), but the staff resolved both promptly and sent over a charcuterie plate as a gesture of goodwill. We had great conversations with many of the staff and are already looking forward to coming back!"
"Hotel was beautiful, pool was stunning, loungers very comfortable, gym and spa were brilliant and the majority of staff were helpful.
The cleaning staff were incredible and our room was spotless.
The restaurant food wasn’t great and the staff weren’t hugely helpful or proactive. For example there is a sushi menu but this isn’t handed out, you have to ask for it. We were served wine on one evening which was the end of the bottle and not a full serve and we had to ask and then remjnd the waiter to open a new bottle to fill the glass.
The pool menu is very limited (and doesn’t include sushi despite it being a very small distance from the kitchen).
We stayed in a loft suite and there were a number of sharp cracked tiles around the bath.
There is a shuttle to one beach but it finishes at 4.30 (there are no Ubers and getting a taxi is almost impossible) so it would be good if they could expand the shuttle service to the other beach clubs / restaurants (e.g comporta cafe / jncquoi) and run the shuttle for longer."
"The staff were wonderful and very welcoming throughout our stay. The property and room were beautiful, with thoughtful decor and lush landscaping. Pool service could use some improvement, as the staff seemed a bit unsure about the ordering process, but everyone was friendly and eager to help."
